Love the external design of this amazing maze of arts venues under one roof. Chanced to enter just after 9 am opening, part curiosity, part needing to pee. Discovered more than I expected. Commentary from a passing staffer, our mutual admiration of paintings on display, mutual affection for Brompton, inner Adelaide, her former home ground. As a pro painter myself, of the painter-decorator variety, I couldn't help but notice the exquisitely neat interior paint job even the loo, a rare site in public facilities where contracts are often awarded by cost not quality. A venue worthy of respect and participation Tai Chi anyone? by locals. I'd like to revisit for a photo shoot.
I came here for a community Clothes Swap event with some friends and we had a fabulous time. We swapped our clothes some fabulous ‘new’ clothes and we had teas and coffees, cakes, cookies and fruit platters available to us - it was a wonderful community Centre with lots of parking nearby and a lovely atmosphere we would love to come here again.
A knighthood to the architect who designed this beautiful, practical space. Incredible art and craft facilities surrounded by gorgeous native gardens, a generous kitchen and dining area looking onto the gorgeous gardens. Everything looks onto the gorgeous gardens. performance hall with huge sliding doors onto.... gardens. They're programming exciting exhibitions in the big open central corridor that's more of a room. The design of the centre is beautiful, with arcing stained timber ceilings, clerestory windows and skylights. There's a community garden. Unfortunately they're very 'across' opportunities to get more money, which is not very community minded; every single item has a price to rent. Hence don't rely on what is in the room you hire, being yours to use while you hire it. You'll probably have to rent two or three things extra. It's a shame when the people who run a space aren't as inspired as the architect in whose vision they're dwelling. But we're so very fortunate that architect got their design past the gate keepers.
Google really should consider allowing ZERO start for review. Too bad that throughout years still unable to provide stable booking for classes and you can't even complain about it. Because they are busy... I feel like honestly, if you charge this service, at least put some effort into it instead of asking people to compromise hence we have. Teachers are lovely and full of passion and care for all classes and kids. Just the admin team that clearly doesn't give a hula hoop.
Staff member was very kind, beautiful affordable art pieces on sale that would make great gifts, runs community support groups as well as art classes, books on art to read informative community notice board. Lovely athmosphere. They have a dance studio, meeting room, drycraft room, clay room and garden room. This place makes my heart sing.
