A lovely Italian restaurant in Bendigo that was a really nice surprise. The atmosphere is warm and cosy, with simple but charming details that make it feel relaxed and welcoming.nnWe ordered a classic bolognese, Tuscan roast chicken, and tiramisu. Everything tasted authentic and well-balanced, with a very traditional Italian feel. Nothing overly fancy, just solid, comforting dishes done right.nnThe restaurant was quite busy when we visited, which says a lot about its popularity with locals. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience—definitely worth a visit if you’re in Bendigo.
We had a great experience at Borchelli Ristorante in Bendigo.nThe food was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. We ordered the bruschetta, herbed crepes, fettuccine al pollo e funghi and gnocchi quattro formaggi, every dish was beautifully cooked and came out quickly despite the restaurant being very busy.nService was fast and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. We also enjoyed a couple of beers and the “Pretty Lady” cocktails, which were a hit!nThe only table available was on the footpath, which we didn’t mind at all, though the tables outside are on the smaller side, so it can feel a little cramped with multiple dishes and drinks.nOverall, a fantastic meal and we’ll definitely be back!
The decor here has a charming classic European style, with tapestries on the seats and classic red checkered tablecloths adding a warm and cozy feel. The service is also good. The restaurant specializes in risottos and pastas. My top recommendation is the Risotto Nero, the combination of seafood and fragrant squid ink is absolutely fantastic
Definitely book ahead! We turned up on a Tuesday and were one of two tables upstairs that weren’t reserved. Balcony and street dining also available.nBeautiful decor. Delicious food.nLovely accomodating staff
Charming setting with the crochet blankets at every table and back of chairs but it wasn’t enough to make up for the very basic Italian fare offered at an exorbitant price. We had the seafood risotto & salmone fettucine, both were so amateur salmone was over salted & risotto very bland with hardly any seafood it was a struggle to finish. It was Sat night so there was a 10% surcharge; this would’ve been okay if food was yummy or levelnof Melbourne Italian eateries but it wasn’t. I asked for the name of the chef & our server happily chirped “Chef D, he’s good isn’t he?”. Sadly, he wasn’t and provided nowhere near the quality of food touted as one of the best in Bendigo. We left thinking we would’ve rather had a nice plate of Italian than the cute crochet blankies & glam pics on the wall of the rich & famous. We also wondered “Did Priscila Presley actually eat anything & go back to Graceland with a smile?”
