Blackheath Automotive will do additional work to your car without your acknowledgement and you will be left paying more than originally thought.

First and last time i will ever use this place!! Dodgey cowboys who only care about pulling money out of your pocket and putting it into theirs. Blackheath have no problem directly lying to their customers about mechincal problems. I had requested a checkover because i had a minor crash which seemed to start making a clanking noise that got louder and louder. When I asked what is it, what needs to be replaced and asked specifically will be covered by insurance. Response: You need fix a few things to make it good to drive again - Cost$400 -700 repairs done by thursday. Actual cost / insurance covered items: $1025 Friday charged total without asking if thats ok to pay more than the original quote. They just did the work and expected i could just pay it because they knew i was desperate and needed my car for work, this would have been fine if the mechanical report reflected what was advised. I was told out of the items repaired: 1 x second hand rim Wheel balancing Full break replacement Labour & wheel bearing kit Only the balancing, labour and wheel baring kit will be covered and he will need to get back to me about the promised mechanical report and photo of my old bearing. THIS WAS NEVER DONE!!!!!! Expecting a week later to get this report no response. Call again request again no response from my message left. I walked in there, I get an apology for the delay and then wait to hear from them again with no response. Nrma refused my claim because i could not gain access to this report promised. Finally nrma gets an email directly from the manager over there who didnt even work on my car. All they got was that this is wear and tear which i was told at point sale it was not. Instead of paying my excess I pay these dogey guys and get behind budgeting for the wrong items that john assured were covered in the first instance. STEER CLEAR unless they write up your mechanical report before the job starts first and only if your desperate, even then id pass! Rant over.

Tried to book in for a car wash - 3 week wait, and told they were jacking the price up by $20 - from $50 to $70. It is now cheaper to take it to Penrith, and I refuse to patronise a business that is clearly extorting the locals.
