Story

We strive to offer a quality substitute of bread products to the coeliac, vegan and diabetic communities across Melbourne and greater Victoria. Our handmade bread is baked fresh daily and available for purchase Tuesday right through to Saturday, along with our range of GF dry mixes and cooking basics.

Bread orders are always welcome and are recommended for those coming from the outer suburbs of Melbourne

Black Ruby has been our go to bakery for a long time now. There service is fantastic and their product is just as good. With my wife having coeliac disease we have tried many different gluten free breads and nothing compares to Black Ruby! Try them out if you haven't already!
Kate and John are highly proficient in their knowledge of gluten free foods and produce a wonderful variety of breads, including fruit bread, rolls and delicious sweet temptations, such as chocolate eclairs, escargot and brownies! Their plain croissants are a real treat, as would be the chocolate filled ones. Highly recommend Black Ruby.
This is an excellent bakery where you can find not only gluten free bread but also with no eggs, milk, butter, soy. It has as well croissants, some cakes, pizza bases, bread crumbs and gf flour. The people working there are really nice, and they accept some booking at the phone for busy periods and holidays! The prices are good and fair
This is the best bread I have found since I had to go "gluten free". For variety and quality, I have not found bettter. Too often the major bakeries just make plastic bread, but this is amazing, real bread, great taste, something that is good for you. I wish I could buy it everywhere.
I need to eat gluten and wheat free bread and I have purchased your pumpkin bread which is very nice. My only disappointment with the product is that it is often too dark on the outside and is bordering on being burnt. This makes the crust inedible when I toast the bread for breakfast. Perhaps you could try and control the ovens or pull the loaves out a little earlier in the baking process.

Most amazing selection of gluten free baked goods. Went there for the first time and nearly died there were so many options!! I will be heading here on the regular from now on for sure!!
The only reason it loses a star is the bitter taste of the bread's crust if it is burnt - as some loaves are - in which case I cut it off and compost it. Otherwise spectacularly great taste and texture!
Most amazing selection of gluten free baked good. My only point is the opening hours, keep up the good work guys.
Best gluten free burger buns around!! We have them delivered to our shop and use them for our burgers! Our customers love them!!
