I bought a clock yesterday but had to return it today because I realised once it was on the wall that I couldn’t read the digits from a distance, even with my glasses on. When I went to exchange it, the service desk lady refused, saying it couldn’t be returned because the packaging was ripped. How else are you supposed to install a clock without tearing open the cardboard it comes in? And it’s impossible to repack it exactly the same once opened. I asked what if the clock hadn’t worked at all — she said that would be different. So apparently, my eyesight not being able to read it doesn’t count.
I received Disgusting customer service today at Big W Glenorchy all because I asked for help the Lady had no customer service skills what so ever and was very rude. Not one to complain usually but don't think I'll be returning to this store in the near future.
HinThis morning around 11.30 hrs on 13th June 2025 I went to big w where I had to get security tags off few superman kids clothes I bought around a week ago, unfortunately didnt have a physical receipt with me. I went to Kayla at frontliner staff for help. She shut me down saying “If no receipt, she cant help me.” I have 11 months old baby in my pram, she just went away without giving me any advice as if I have to go back home with three clothes with security tags still on and my toddler not being able to wear them. I was very sad. Then I went to customer service big line, and just remembered I had scanned rewards card and may be ereceipt is there. So, Fortunately it was there. Then I went to the same staff and she said it was hectic for her that time and hence couldn’t help me. I have her feedback as A little bit of good listening, good communication could be helpful for a busy mom like me. What if I had no knowledge of rewards card, I would have to return without anyhelp. In Kmart, at least they refer to customer service if no receipt.nnAnyways , this was very unprofessional and very sad.nnI am a frontline staff as well, If I cant do a task then I always seek support and do a referral, but let the customer have a service. Its customer rights.
Should've read the reviews first. States there is stock in store, however, when you are in store nothing available. A book came in yesterday and was told it is yet to be unpacked and was not possible. Why advertise it is available then?nnThe service desk lady implied I should have phoned to check. Have you ever tried contacting Big W outside the week day hours - clearly nothing happening there.nnMay I never be desperate to visit Big W in Glenorchy ever again. Appalling service.
All new lay out. Bright open check outs. Plenty of self service checkouts. I went in when they had big sales. Especially the fishing section. I Love that they do Afterpay and fast click and collect.
