Where authentic recipes and real Latinos mix together with one goal.

Our food is base in traditional Latin American cuisine. Our recipes are authentic and homemade at Besos Latinos Restaurant by our talented and professional Latin American Chefs.

Our Menu is a Culinary Tour to Latin America since pre-Hispanic times to nowadays including the street food classics.

The Menu was created by awarded Mexican Chef Luis Cabrera inspired in his work as a Chef in some of the best restaurants in Mexico City and his travels around Latin America. Member of the NZ Chefs Association, Chef Luis and his Latin American team selects the best and freshest New Zealand products and imported ingredients to share with you the best Latin Gourmet Food in NZ in a casual and colorful atmosphere inside one of the most beautiful heritage buildings in Auckland City.

The first restaurant of its kind in New Zealand, Besos Latinos has nothing to do with Tex Mex the nachos and tacos many New Zealanders mistakenly believe is traditional Latin American cuisine. The restaurant offers traditional dishes from Argentina, Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela, along with a fine selection of Latin American cocktails, wines and beers. Great food, high quality and good portion sizes. The restaurant was absolutely packed, and our first choice of main had already sold out. The chefs and wait staff were run off their feet - felt sorry for them. Needed more staff to accommodate that many customers. Luckily everyone seemed patient. One of our mains were missed and forgotten, when asked if we were ready to leave or order more food we had to remind them we were still waiting on food to come. This was quickly fixed and offered half price for this main in particular.
“Mexican in Auckland” Tried this restaurant for the first time. SUPER-HOT - Diabla Prawns really scrumptious but way too hot drank 4 bottles of water, man it was crazy . As per the online menu, rice is supposed to be served with it, however, dish was served without rice. ‍ It was a super-spicy gravy. Other dishes were pretty average. Staff was nice, restaurant aesthetics are pleasing.
Loved the civeche. Best guacamole ever. Everything so fresh and delicious. Great service.

Clean and tidy with an attentive staff. Decent speed of service. We tried the refried beans and guacamole; both appeared to be home made and tasty. Sadly neither of us liked the corn chips. They were rather hard but the dips helped make up for it. I was pleased with my tuna ceviche. I wouldn't consider this a place for a meal, though. Good selection of imported Mexican beers and Patron, so come for a drink. We will need to try the margaritas another time, but I don't think we would reorder food next time, considering half the menu uses those chips. Doesn't hold up to the standard of the original Besos Latinos restaurant on Elliot St, in my opinion. The general atmosphere, great Mexican food, and Pina Ciladas are something we will dearly miss from their previous restaurant.
Absolutely wonderful service. All the meals we had were so packed full of flavour and not greasy in the slightest. The prices are on the higher side for the portion sizes, but they are so delicious that it is easily worth it. The flavour stays with you the rest of the day and makes you want more. Will be going back for sure!
The decor and ambiance was totally stunning. However the food was really average. We had tacos for lunch and the portion size was tiny. Also the place was a absolutely empty when we reached while all other places were completely full so I wondered why. The two tacos took nearly 50 mins to arrive! Even though there were hardly any other customers. The staff was nice and apologised but really the overall experience wasn't nice at all.
This amazing new waterfront spot is any ceviche/tequila-lover's paradise. From the authentic Latin service and ownership, the original decor directly imported from Mexican artisans to the freshest fish you can get in town this place is perfect for date-nights, business meetings and any reason you my have to try some truly delicious ceviche choose from their rotating selection of 5 types. You also have at your disposal the full premium range of Patron tequilas, including a single barrel one handpicked by the restaurant owner and made for this restaurant only. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
In my personal experience I really enjoyed this place, I had the chance to speak to whom I think was the owner and she explained that everything in the restaurant comes from Mexico, traditional artists, hand made tables, their own tequila straight from Tequila Jalisco Mexico, eating here was a wonderful experience as is not only a delight to the sight but also delicious, the flavours are amazing, this place is a must for those who love Mexican food but want to try something different.
Nice restaurant inside Elliott's stables. Love the decor inside. Service was slow. We had someone who was new who was pleasant. Food looked beautiful but i feel it was over done a bit and the bottom part was hard and a bit difficult to cut up
