The food at Mexico was excellent and tasty. They had many vegan options including tacos, sides, mains and dessert. The cocktails were also delicious. They use both vegetables and impossible meat in their vegan options. The restaurant itself was lively and cosy
I decided to pop in for some light bites one evening and love a good Mexican restaurant. I won't say this isn't one but I've been to better. The taco was very tasty but at these prices I felt I was getting a little ripped off. Whereas the half quesadilla was also nice it was worth the price. The servers were all very nice but the place felt more like a fast food joint than a restaurant. TLDR - expensive but nice. Tacos overpriced.
We came to this Britomart branch for lunch and had mixed experiences with their food. The guacamole was well-made and flavourful but the chips to gauc ratio was a bit disappointing. The salsa is unfortunately not something that I would recommend - tasted like salted canned tomatoes. The corn chips were wonderful however - perfectly dense and crispy, and we took the rest home to eat with our own homemade salsa. Shrimp tacos were fresh and perfectly balanced. Beef carnitas tacos was ok - beef in itself was cooked well but the chipotle mayo definitely overpowered the mole which was a shame. The dishes came out quickly and service was fine. However, we would prefer to eat again at the ponsonby branch for now.
I think it's good for a drink, but not if you're hungry. We were offered a table for 2 then realized it was 2 seats next to a group of 6.. The environment is really nice, and though the waitress was friendly she pressured me into a mimosa because if If she sold it "my boss will give me a meal" and she told my partner "don't worry my kids don't need to eat" when he refused... the food was tasty, but it's really a tapas bar, with mains priced food. But, lovely location and the walls looked nice.
My family booked under 'Kayla' last Saturday evening and we had the most incredible night for dinner and drinks. The room upstairs was intimate and cozy + the food was delicious. The bartenders and servers were all wonderful. Super efficient, friendly and made our evening top notch. The little bar that they took us too afterwards was a total surprise and we expected to join the public crowd had no issues with that but instead had the pleasure of having our own nook to enjoy our Sangria's Appreciate all the work that goes on there and the great staff. Can't wait to come back!
I've eaten here many times over the years and the menu tends to change by season from what I recall. This is sometimes hit and miss. This most recent visit wasn't a complete miss - tried the cactus chimichangas for the first time and although super salty I enjoyed the texture and dipping sauce. The fried chicken is always a winner - it has a chilli hit but is manageable. Dessert was basically out and there was a few things that was not available from the menu too. Location is good but not wheelchair friendly or accessible. Staff seem to be nice.
Ate here on Saturday and it was delicious. Bri our waitress was super friendly and helpful in pointing out what was good for me being gluten free and not into super spicy. She nailed it. The tacos were yummy. I probably had one too many they were so good. Would highly recommend and definitely be back.
Thanks for lunch today! We booked out the function room for our work Christmas lunch and had the $50pp set menu. All the food was great and it was plenty for the number of people. Drinks were also really good. Would definitely come back!Food: 5/5
