I went into Belvidere IGA 10min before closing time and was rushing to get some last minute groceries. As I was hurrying I dropped a punnet of blueberries and it went everywhere on the floor. The awesome staff there immediately came and helped me pick up the blueberries and offered to get me a new pack of blueberries and said to not worry about the incident. Belvidere IGA has such great staff! Absolutely made my night, sincere and thoughtful staff.

I recently visited this IGA, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The building itself is quite old, and some areas feel a bit outdated. The crowd in the store seemed a bit dodgy at times, which might not make it the most comfortable shopping environment. However, the supermarket itself is decently stocked with a wide variety of food across plenty of aisles, so you’ll likely find what you need. One thing I appreciated was how quick it was to get through the checkout line, making the whole trip fairly efficient.
Excellent value hot food is available, like a roast beef dinner. Large box is $12.
Easy to get into and out of. Plenty of parking out front and back. On direct bus route. Open until late. Small IGA but has most items people need in a weekly shop. Very friendly staff. Some good deals to be found at times. They have a very nice deli pay at deli for deli items with hot foods and plenty of cold dinner type meals. Very friendly and helpful checkout operators. The only downside is that it is located in an area that is heavy in public housing and there are often arguments going on out the front by shady characters. Choose your time to go shopping. I would definitely recommend this store.
