Beechworth bakery is usually pretty good. Maybe I got a dodgy pie batch but it wasn’t to the standard I know and love. Very under staffed with only one person working the counter and another on the coffee machine yet a huge line of people and a full restaurant.
A great spot for a break, offering everything you need—coffee, light snacks, pies, cakes, and slices. I devoured my steak and pepper pie faster than you can say Indiana Jones. The filling was generous and packed with flavour, while the crust was perfectly flaky and buttery. Absolutely delicious! My oat chai latte was excellent too and the sausage roll was just as impressive. The filling was well-seasoned and the pastry was wonderfully flaky.nnEdit: Returned the next day for more pies before heading home.

Paid for a Beechworth steak pie and was given a basic pie with party pie filling. No flavour. Really disappointing as it did not live up to the hype.
They claim to be Australia's greatest bakery. I disagree. My breakfast roll was pre-made, the egg was over cooked, it was small and it was expensive. Over $20 for. Roll and a coffee. Wow. The coffee had no flavour. Certainly not our greatest. I'd go to the local bakery next time for a real coffee and roll
