A true Aussie bakery that lives up to its name. I'd been to the original Beechworth bakery many times, but this was my first time trying the Ballarat shop - and, boy, was I impressed. The place was spacious, clean, and run like a well-oiled machine. The people working there were so patient and helpful, keeping the place immaculate. A special shout-out to the young gentleman, Dylan, who had to take our order multiple times, and was clearing and cleaning the tables promptly! The pies and pasties, of course, were exceptional. What I particularly appreciated here were the free condiments loved the tomato sauce dispenser and tea - with hot water, milk, and different types of tea available. Would visit again 100% and recommend to anyone visiting Ballarat!
Stopped by this bakery for a quick breakfast, and it did not disappoint! The brekky roll was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The coffee was spot-on, perfectly brewed and just what I needed to start the day. A fantastic spot for a great bite and a quality coffee!
Always delicious food, such great variety! Had a toastie and coffee one day, went back the next for a Beesting, custard tart, jelly slice and choc eclair. Just so good! Very happy and full!nGreat service too!nCool vibe in a beautiful building which used to be a bank!
Purchased Sri Lanka curry pie, mushroom pie and German donut.nMy expectations were low for the pies based on previous google reviews so I was really surprised that the curry pie was delicious! So much flavour and will definitely go back to get more curry pies. Beautiful big chunks of meat and rich sauce. Just yum!nThe mushroom pie was very underwhelming, very little flavour and the pie crust was dry. Like a hard biscuit.nNever had a German donut, it was also underwhelming. The bakery could definitely tweak the recipe to make it more tasty. Also tasted a bit old.nThe staff seemed really odd, I've not experienced something like that before. Very awkward. I think they were special needs staff, if that's the case good on the bakery for hiring them but if they're not special needs then they definitely need new staff.nSolid 4 out of 5 just for that curry pie alone.
Stopped in this afternoon. Thought I'd try the recommended Bee Sting with all its custardy goodness. Suited my sweet tooth nicely. Accompanied with a well made flat white coffee ordered extra hot as always. Lovely! Will definitely come again
