Beach162 might be a bit of a misnomer with Frankston Beach being more than 2 kms away. That said - it is probably a good venue to repair to after a day at the Beach or anywhere else. Eclectic Mediterranean decor inside - multi spacious "rooms" which lead to either the alfresco palm fringed front courtyard to covered pillared light filled patio at the back. Even the ceilings have not been spared! Good fun checking it all out! Parking is tight but there are limited spaces at back - entry from side street. Food is good but not exceptional. I had falafel vegetarian platter. The falafel looked liked it came out of a packet but passed the taste test I could be wrong about origin & salad was fresh. My tea was served in a coffee plunger - is this mediterranean style? Odd. We were a noisy big bunch for lunch - mostly everyone liked their order except for one who found the grilled chicken fillet tough & dry. Wait staff explained the delay to someone who ordered gluten free...All up - good service too.

Went today to have breakfast as soon as we entered it was a pleasure. We sat outside because the sun was shining in the beautiful courtyard. We were greeted by a beautiful smile from the lady who served us and I am sorry I did not get her name but she returned from maternity leave given our menus and ordered the latte with lactose milk. We ordered the vegetarian breakfast and the big breakfast. It was the best breakfast we have ever had. The presentation and taste was outstanding. We definitely will go again and recommend it to anyone that you must go and enjoy this beautiful gem of a restaurant in frankston.

Lovely venue. We have been coming on and off for a few years now. Always nice people. Always good food. Tonight was particularly delicious. I tried the lamb shoulder roast and it was divine! It came with a complex mash potato and vegies. In restaurants in general, I would leave the veggies on the side bad, I know. Not tonight tho! I was positively surprised to enjoy them as much as the shoulder! Delicious. The service was on point and friendly, from all staff members. My kids and wife walked out very happy. Seriously, what else is needed? Well done guys!
Beach 162 is an Australian restaurant offering delicious food options in a unique and aesthetic venue. When we visited, we tried their wood fire pizza and barramundi, which tasted great but were a little pricey for the portion. Their staff were also wonderful as one of them went above and beyond to take great group photos for us when requested.
Venue is good and the food was nice, but the service was terrible. Staff were lazy, disinterested and disengaged. Had to ask for plates for a shared dish. 3 adults-2 plates. Both wait staff leaned over my husband to give me food and drinks, even though there was room next to me. No “Excuse me”. Had to ask for water and was told “That’s fine”. Well, der. It’s your job. Of course it’s ‘fine’. Used plates and glasses left on our table. One of them walked past and looked, then kept going. Not that busy either. Of course, they respond by misspelling my name, proving they pay no attention whatsoever. Far more interested in staring at my baby granddaughter than doing their job. Won’t be rushing back. Seriously, train your staff! It’s basic stuff.
Went there for breakfast on a quick trip to Melbourne to see family. Coffee was good and served quickly. Ordered poached eggs and mushrooms. Just a bit let down by hard poached yolks. Really prefer runny. Not going to let that effect my rating though. Nice vibe and loved the mottled shade for the outdoor seating.Food: 4/5

Our group of six went there for a birthday dinner and ordered a variety of meals. All of us found the meals of average quality, and there wasn't much of them. My Barramundi fillet was small and was able to cover most of the small cubes of potatoe on the plate. It was more like a large entree than a main. My son had the 300g Porterhouse steak & "fat" chips, which came out with four 4 chips on the plate that weren't that big. We had a large table next to us with loud people on it, which made conversation difficult. Had to strain to hear each other and raise voices to be heard. Most of the staff seemed flustered, forgetting a drinks order and not wiping the table down after the last group. Crumbs & a bit sticky here and there It wasn't horrible, but in my opinion it was very average given the prices they were charging for the meals are on a par with other places where the quality & quantity has been much greater. Won't be heading back.
