Originally the Council Chambers of Ballina our iconic heritage building has since been transformed into a beautiful café space with an attached art gallery showcasing local artists. A family owned and run business, Nicole, Marty and Jackie are passionate about all things food and coffee. Marty is a chef working and gaining experience throughout Sydney and Europe. Nicole and Jackie are local sisters, growing up in the Northern NSW region with an understanding of what produce the region has to offer. A beautiful cafe in a nice quiet street. Lots of parking close by. Don't hesitate to come here as the staff are friendly and the food is really fresh and tasty. Coconut cold brew was very really refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. The smoked trout salad had really nice asparagus and the hot smoked trout was very gourmet. Highly recommend this. However the falafel bagel was just divine. The pickled vegetables salad in the side actually went very well with the bagel and everything in it worked. Can't recommend this place enough
Up from Sydney visiting family and have had both breakfast and lunch this week and both meals were amazing, service was second to none. Beautiful shaded spot, with easy on site parking and outdoor tables. Good for both kids and dogs and staff were so accommodating - we will be back!
Friendly and helpful staff, great food and a lovely atmosphere. We had the falafel salad and lobster roll with a glass of shiraz. All were delicious, highly recommend
I enjoyed breakfast here after a one-night stay in Ballina. How lucky is Ballina to have such a great cafe! The menu covers all the breakfast bases. Service was pleasant and efficient and everything happened seamlessly as you would like it to, but often doesn’t these days. My flat white was the best coffee I’ve had out in a long time. My beautifully cooked omelette arrived “open”, with all the fillings on top. I was initially taken aback by the presentation, but enjoyed eating it that way. Most diners, some with pets, were sitting at tables on the grass out the front of the cafe. Breakfast dining doesn’t get much better than this.
Cannot recommend this place more!!! It all started with the long haired yahoo waiter… amazing service and tasteful small talk!! Then came the food… disgusting ~ DISGUSTINGLY GOOD!! The icing on the cake was the lighthearted joke made by the lovely waitress. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience 10/10
Must try their premium porterhouse steak, 12hour slow cooked brisket burger and lobster sandwich. I like their chips too!
Lovely atmosphere. Great food freshly prepared. Vegetarian options available. Coffee hot and enjoyable. Plenty of time to chat with friends without feeling rushed.
Lovely little space in Ballina. Super friendly staff. We ducked in for some breakfast on the way to a friend's house as this was the most popular cafe on yelp in Ballina according to 65 other people. I haven't been anywhere else in Ballina, however, would recommend this place. Indoor and outdoor seating available, good coffee and cheap prices! I'm comparing the prices to an average Sydney breakfast though FYI.
While the food and service from the wait staff was great we were very disappointed when we went to use my birthday voucher to discover that the current owner would not honour any vouchers issued by the previous owner. I contacted them via phone and email to resolve the situation but never even received a reply.
I googled Best Breakfast in Ballina, and the Gallery cafe came up. It was the best feed, and the size of the big breakfast was gigantic! The gallery rosti was also delicious. Top service, top food, top setting. Thanks Gallery Cafe.
