Balaclava train station is a well-maintained station conveniently located in the restaurant and shopping area along Carlisle Street. The station offers seating, disabled access, food and drinks, and a live timetable. What really makes this station stand out is the exceptional lady at the front counter. She consistently goes above and beyond by making announcements to assist people at the Myki machine. Her friendly demeanor and positive attitude make her a great asset to the station and a wonderful way to start the day. It's fine, the station has some facilities and is easy to find, however switching platforms requires you to walk all the way down onto the street since the station is already elevated, there is no over or underpass.
STATION ON THE SANDRINGHAM LINEnWell maintained station situated in the restaurant and shopping strip along Carlisle Street.nWas still staffed late on Saturday night when I was last there.nRamp up to the elevated line from Carlisle Street. Separate street level entry points for Platform 1 for the city and Platform 2 for Sandringham.nI wanted to go to North Melbourne Station so it was a fairly simple trip to Southern Cross and then a train change.nStaff are friendly and helpful. The station is well lit.

The woman who works at the train station is one of the friendliest people around, she is always happy, chatty and honestly cares about the people who catch the train at her station. She makes having to get up and go to work early, just that little bit easier :
