The best place I have ever been to in Brisbane so far. Once you step in to this place, you will feel a warm, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. I came here for the first time on their Yoga Day Festival in 2023 and have been coming back here every week ever since! I super love the kirtan meditation but they have a variety of yoga classes and amazing workshops and events. It has become my happy place in Brisbane. No matter what I have gone through the day but once I come and immerse in the moment at this place, I will step out in a much happier and more fulfilling feeling at the end of the day. You will never regret coming here!!
I feel so incredibly grateful to have found such an amazing place when I was going through a breakdown in my marriage and an upheaval in my life. Since 2017 I have been attend Kirtan and yoga classes. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone. ASMY really holds a special place in my heart and is perhaps the biggest single factor that has contributed to me being able to move on, maintain a content and happy state of physical and mental wellbeing. I love the community and the generosity of the volunteers. Gayatri is an amazing soul with an angelic voice. I now live abroad but each time I come back to Brisbane I always attend Kirtan and it feels like I have never left - it feels like I’m coming home! Im forever grateful for this special place.
I have been attending ASMY a few times a week for over a year now and cant speak highly enough of my experience. The availability and quality of the classes is amazing and the atmosphere is most welcoming like being part of a family. I have completed additional workshops there which like the classes are very reasonably priced and professionally run with delicious and nutritious food. I wish I had discovered this oasis sooner and have enjoyed my experience as a regular visitor immensely.
Yoga Asana, amazing events, Workshops, Community and great meditation. This yoga studio is quite different to most. The Yoga teachers are down to earth, kind and are practicing untainted authentic Yoga. The classes will leave you calm rather than wired if that's what you're looking for. As for events and workshops, there is a bit for everyone. If you don't resonate with the Yoga, give one of their other services a go! I have been going to the Live Kirtan Meditations in bursts for around 10 years and it's my favourite part of the studio. The combination of lovely people, calming music and great food leaves a warm fuzzy feeling that lasts a few days and has always kept me coming back.
What a chill place can sometimes be literally! When it's too hot in summer just come by and ask for water - it's free near the entrance. It's too chill that when I joined a music meditation kirtan on a weekday, many were sleeping on the couches. They also sell some interesting items, my recent favourite is the tulasi necklace, pictured. They are a non-profit organisation, so I know that if I buy anything, donate money, or do some volunteering, it ultimately benefits the community. Most meditation programmes are by donation. I am most thankful for the wisdom I get from attending Sunday talks, and applying in my daily life some practices they shared.
Once you enter the doors you never want to leave, it’s such a beautiful oasis with sunlight, plants and meditative sound. The yoga room is inviting and so spacious and the mediation space is so comfortable with couches and cushions. Not to mention the wonderful instructors and volunteers that are so kind and welcoming to everyone. Gayatri has created a beautiful community and I’m glad to say I’ve meet so many friends here and keep coming back for all the centre has to offer!
This is a Yoga centre like no other which I have found life changing in so many ways! Gayatri held the first class I attended and I knew straight away that I had stumbled across something very special. Her genuine care & knowledge made me want to be apart of this centre and I now visit multiple times a week as part of my weekly routine.
My recent visit to ASMY West End for a yoga class was a truly impressive experience. The studio's cleanliness, spaciousness, and well-equipped and a beautiful yoga room. However, what truly stood out was the calm and relaxing atmosphere, which created the perfect environment for a focused practice. The instructor's knowledge, patience, and ability to provide significant modifications for everyone in the class were also noteworthy. The session's emphasis on mindfulness and self-care was a welcome touch. I highly recommend ASMY West End to anyone seeking a yoga experience in a serene and rejuvenating environment.
I love going to the Wednesday night classes they have here. Super relaxing, great people, you also get some free snacks/sweets all given to them by donations. Very nice atmosphere, and a cute little shop up front. Highly recommended!
ASMY is a warm and welcoming place to learn and practice yoga and meditation. A clean and calm decor in the yoga room and kirtan space. The people there are very friendly. I enjoy the lovely food they provide on kirtan nights too!
