So, every time I've been here, there's been something which has made me feel like it isn't worth my time. The first time I went, I told them I was allergic to adhesive and certain bandages, when they had finished, they put on bandages I was allergic to. I ended up with a massive rash all up my arm. One positive thing was they had some nice sandwiches. The next time I went, they 'repositioned' the needle in both my arms so many times I was black and blue. But at least they had a nice staff member. Then it all went downhill from there. Each experience after that was worse, from rude staff, to waiting over an hour past my appointment time, to having nothing but dry jatz crackers and water available post the donation. When I fed this back through the call centre, they didn't take this on board. I tried to tell them I have a busy schedule, they said they can't guarantee appointment times at all if I am not able to get back to work on time, I'm not losing my job so you can get free bodily fluids from me!. They continued to phone me, asking over and over for my donations, but have not done anything to address my concerns. It's now to the point where I have blocked their call centre from calling me as I can't take the almost fortnightly harassment for my blood! For an organisation which depends on volunteers and generosity, your business model doesn't match your target audience.....
. Nice sandwiches. . State of the art facility. . Caring nurses. . Feel-good experience.
First experience here was smooth and friendly. Second experience was a blow out. It happens. Felt more sorry for the nurse covered in my blood. I was fine. Last experience was very poor. I felt like I was an inconvenience, and that it was all just too hard for each and every staff member I encountered. Had an appointment at the beginning of the day. Didn’t get welcomed, stood awkwardly waiting to be directed. Then told by the staff that I couldn’t donate vein wasn’t ‘good’, I understand what that means but was ushered out the door. No explanation as to what I could do to help hydrate even more?, or whether I should try again in future or just give up donating blood. Given up simply because I feel like an inconvenience.
Wonderful caring professional's that make it so easy to give blood. My 7 minutes in a comfortable chair is the very least I can do for others, it's so so easy.
Friendly staff, and a great snack counter!
Nice Staff. Clean place. Donate blood, Save lives!
I am always impressed with how caring and compassionate the staff are at Grenfell St. They make you feel so special for donating. It is great to see familiar faces that I know from the old Pirie st site. They are very professional but take that time to get to know you. Thank you for being inspiring, also love the Jatz biscuits and cheese!
Excellent place for plasma or blood donation! Team is very nice and professional. Place is clean :
Had some great experiences here, some not so great. Unavoidable blow outs some times, other times things go super smoothly, super quickly. The most consistent thing is that the staff can be oddly hostile and stand offish? Offish is totally a word. From the people at reception, the people doing the initial screening and even the 'needlers', I've been made to feel like I'm an inconvenience by someone at this place at each time I've donated. It doesn't dissuade me from donating, and I'm not looking for a medal but for a business whose sole idea is the fact that it runs on donations, you'd think a little more emphasis would be placed on making the donator feel at ease and comfortable through the journey. Again, hasn't happened every time I've donated, just enough to notice. Also, has happened to a few of my friends. But they give you Oak. And Oak is phenomenal.
Friendly Staff and large spacious room.
