Australian Home Brewing

Have had two orders from them so far and been happy - my first order was delayed as other reviewers have experienced, but staff were very courteous when I chased up on it and it didn't stop me from buying from them again. No delay at all with second order, and prompt help on the phone about their products.

They wouldn't send my order out unless I provided my phone number and ever since I've been getting scam texts. They didn't even contact me through email that they weren't sending my order, I contacted them after more than a week of silence. If I never called them first I bet they would've just pocketed my money. So don't claim you tried to contact me, you had my email, you have more than enough time and I never heard a word from you. The only emails I received were the auto ones confirming my order once I made the purchase and only after I made the call did I receive emails that my order had been sent. Never encountered this issue with a company before and with buying online in general. This is a reminder to people reading this to never give out your real number when buying online and that you aren't required to.

These guys are great. Extremely knowledgeable and such a great selection of recipe kits. If you need a hand just call them up and they will help you out with beer/life.

My dealing with AHB has been nothing short of wonderful. The staff there are very helpful, and go out of their way to try and heelp you. I would 100% recommend them for all of your Home Brewing needs. Cheers Matt

I have just started exploring the whole home brewing venture and had done very thorough research on what was best to buy and where to buy it. I couldn’t go past these guys at Australian Home Brewing, because not only were they super helpful but they have such incredible depth of knowledge as they’ve been in the game for decades, they constantly brew and distil, and are passionate about the whole process from getting the right equipment to perfecting ingredients. I purchased the Turbo 500 complete system and compared pricing and content with all the other competitors. Nothing could beat what Aust Home Brewing was offering. Along with their knowledge and enthusiasm to talk me through the setup and use of this system. They even advised me not t buy certain items as they said I wouldn’t need them – that’s honesty! They have blown me away with support and assistance. They even have a store located in South Oakleigh which I’ve visited a couple of times. I find it reassuring that they have a physical presence in the market as so many retailers these days have an online presence only and this can make it very frustrating to get hold of them. Not so at Aust Home Brewing, they are there in person or always on the phone or email and they are always happy to hear from my and answer my novice questions I’m making Gin and Whiskey, the recipe packs they make are nothing short of spectacular – my partner is a fussy spirit drinker and every drop I’ve brewed for him – he’s utterly loved! Highly recommend purchasing from Aust Home Brewing – on equipment, expert advice, price and delivery. All round one-stop shop.

The brewing equipment is very good. Bought it years ago and still going strong. Love the variety of styles of beer, and good advice when I’ve wanted to experiment.

Communication is deceitful. I made an order on a Sunday night, only to have no update on the status for three days. Thursday, I sent an email to find out what happened and suddenly received a call saying it had been packed and was going to leave a few hours later. No shipment Thursday so I requested a refund, only to be told that it had just been packed today Friday and was now waiting to be shipped. Turns out they ran out of one of my items before they got around to packing my order, despite taking full payment. Clearly they had been stringing me along long enough for the product to arrive, so that I wouldn't cancel my order. If they were to be honest and inform me the day after my order had been placed rather than radio silence until I initiated contact, this perhaps may have gone another way. Communicating with Hamish about my order highlighted that he had straight up lied to me about the status of my order. When talk turned to my request of a refund, I was told that this couldn't be processed til next week. There is absolutely no reason for a delay for at least initiating it, staffing issues or not. This place screams of an online retailer with bad processes and dishonest conduct. My experience is they will not generally respond in writing, rather call you to smooth the waters any way they can. Steer clear if you're shopping online for your supplies.
