Do NOT book your passport interview here! I have made an official complaint against the older caucasian woman with the grey hair who I had my passport interview with. This was the most infuriatingly bad service experience that I have received in a long time. It was incredibly stressful and a complete waste of time. This staff member was very obviously not trained on how to hold passport interviews on anything that is a little "outside the box" of being born in Australia with an original Australian birth certificate My new passport application was a special case as I could not provide my original birth certificate and I was born overseas, but I had my B11 form completed (as under the advice of APIS directly) with my case, APIS reference number and contact at APIS to verify my case. This old lady at Aust Post rejected my application on the spot and didn't want to hear out my case or accept my B11 form. I asked her to call APIS and she refused, telling me that APIS were only open Monday to Friday, which I had to correct her and state that a different Aust Post staff member contacted APIS on my behalf the Saturday before and I had also contacted them myself last Sunday. When she begrudgingly called APIS, she didn't relay my case or reference as requested, just a very vague "I've got someone here without her birth certificate" to which of course, whoever she spoke to at APIS must have said a standard answer and I hear her reply "Well that's what I'm trying to tell her but she won't listen" with me standing right there. I left, completely defeated by her stubbornness and rudeness and had to call APIS to get some advice. APIS couldn't believe the way I had been treated and in their words: "Australia Post doesn't get to make that call" in regards to my application and that it was obvious this woman was on a power trip and for me to go to a different post office. I went to Richmond North LPO immediately after, who processed my passport application without even having a booking, they were incredibly friendly and helpful, the complete opposite of my experience with Collingwood Post Shop! Avoid Collingwood for your Passport Interview if you want to save time, your sanity and to be treated like a human being.

Every morning I walk past at approx 7:30am-8:00am (depending on how late I am running) and every morning there are two customer service officers in there, with lights on and doors open so naturally I assumed they open a little earlier then others even though it says 9am on the door (my previous local post office opened 8am-7pm even though the door says 9am-5pm). I walked in to collect a package which was sitting there and before I could get half way in the store they yelled at me to "get out! we're not opened" I was quite taken aback by this so I then tried to explain that I had come in because I assumed they were open due to me walking past every morning but before I could finish, I was cut off and was told that "the door says 9am-5pm, read the door" and then the lady yelled out "it's for the delivery driver" I opted to continuously repeat myself by telling them to "calm down" because they were quite aggressive towards me and walked out quite distressed. Safe to say, I will be looking for a new post office. Such a shame to hire people with this level of Customer Service. You draw all your customers away with such a horrible attitude and lack of customer service skills. I think it's time Aust Post head office start making some improvements, it's bad enough that their deliveries aren't up to scratch, I don't think they can afford to have customers service officers with low customer service skills.
