Was at the emergency room either in dec 2025 or Jan 2026 don’t remember properly but I was waiting and all of a sudden a mother comes running in with her baby a literal baby having a active seizure even I know the baby was having a seizure and I’m not a medical professional. The nurse at the front desk. Was an asain young female in her 20s with eyelashes and pink scrubs I think showed no care. ASKED THE LADY IF THE BABY HAD BEEN TRIAGED SHOWING NO SYMPATHY then the mother kept stressing so THEN they rushed the active seizing baby into the emergency room. When I witnessed that I felt sick to to my stomach . The nurses proceeded to laugh about the situation after . The other nurse looked at her and laughed was like “hahaha why did you ask if the baby was seizing?” Never come here. If I remembered her name I would make a formal complaint . I am so worried for our helsthcsre system

Peak time. Not enough doctors on? Don't support the nurses especially at the front desk  They dont deserve it. A very few are good .The rest would rather chat to each other about what to have for dinner, look at you in pain and keep talking while im there with a broken ankle.Its not the government. Bring nurses from other countries.  Dont blame the Australian government. These nurses dont deserve it. They litterly have no heart. Especially in the emergency room here. Absolutely horrible. Go Private.

What an extremely disappointing experience at the Austin Emergency Department. I honestly don’t understand if this place is an emergency department or a “slow-motion” service. They didn’t seem to care about anyone’s health at all.nnI went there around 23.22 for urgent treatment for my broken finger, but there was absolutely no chance of getting timely attention. Very few staff were working and there were many patients waiting. This is not how an emergency department should operate, especially at midnight when people come in real pain and distress.nnIt’s a shame that the healthcare system is so slow and unresponsive. If I had the option, I would fly to another country like India where emergency care is faster and more considerate.nHi, I need to raise a serious concern. I have been waiting here since 10:50 pm with a painful finger injury, and it is now extremely late. This is an emergency department, yet there has been no update, no support, and no proper communication. My wife has work in the morning and my children are at home alone, and this situation has caused significant stress and inconvenience. This level of service is unacceptable. I need someone to review my case immediately or provide a clear and accurate waiting time.”Now time 02:55

Truly appreciate the care and emergency treatment received at Austin ED. The staff were very polite and kind in spite of all the stressful situations, sudden spike in number of cases as we were there and also some difficult people they had to manage. Many thanks to all staff for your great work!

Although the Austin has a better reputation than other local hospitals, i found the complacency of the ED staff very concerning. My child was in extreme pain and the staff were more concerned with chatting and laughing behind the counter. We were told he's breathing too fast causing the problem.  Really!?
