I loved this restaurant!! Came here for a birthday celebration with the family and I was amazed by the food and service. First time trying Afghan cuisine and every dish I tried was unbelievable delicious and full of rich flavours!! I really liked the eggplant dish. l highly recommend this place and would definitely come back again.
We had an amazing experience here, friendly staff, great atmosphere and the food was just top shelf! They are also very generous with their portions Family owned restaurant with exceptional staff, highly recommend coming here. The mixed kebab platter and sambusa were all so delicious, and the chicken biryani was out of this world also very easy to find parking on a Saturday night
Wow wow wow is all I can say. This is the best afghan/ persian restaurant ever. Have tried so many in NSW and other states and across Europe but this is by far the BEST EVER!!nThe Sabzi is literally the best number 1.nHas no meaty smell and tastes sooo fresh and good. Great food with no excess layer of oil like others… this was super good and delicious..nthe rice was fluffy and delicious.nThe kebab was super good tender and amazing flavour.nnWe had to wait a bit for the food but it was definitely worth the wait because it was peak hour weekend but the food was sooo good honestly I would recommend this Persian / Afghan restaurant to anyone. Our guests also enjoyed this food and we literally all demolished our plates was that good.nThe menue doesn’t say what is included and what is not so maybe I’d suggest the owner to write down exactly what comes with what. For example; the sabzi doesn’t say it comes with rice. Or the kebab doesn’t mention it comes with bread or rice of your choice. This should be clearly written on the menue for quicker service but the waiter was very friendly and explained the different menu options and showed us photos which were so helpful as we were first timers. But I think for quicker choosing the menu should be updated to reflect exactly what it comes with or what your side options are.nnThe price is a little dear but worth it cos it’s very delicious.nnThe portion size is quite small to be honest as other have mentioned in the reviews. I had to ask for a second place of rice because the rice that comes with sabzi was not enough.nnBut overall the taste of food was 1000/10
Came here for a family gathering and food was fantastic. Sadly didn't take enough photos. Their eggplant was the bomb !
Three of us came to Ashy’s Afghan Restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The customer service here is excellent, and the waiter who was serving us was super friendly and accomodating. We ordered the mantu dumplings, chicken and rice pulao, and Turkish delight treats. The food was very tasty. For anyone looking to try some delicious and authentic Afghan food, I would highly recommend checking out Ashy’s Afghan Restaurant in Ashburton. Thank you!
