Complaint Regarding Poor Customer Service at Apple Perth on November 5, 2024nnDear Apple Managers,nnI am writing today to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at your store on November 5, 2024. As a long-term customer of Apple, I have owned more than a handful of iPhones and a Mac Book Pro over the years. However, my recent experience has left me completely disappointed about your business. Hope my feedback helps your teams:nn1. Develop better knowledge about your productsn2. Serve your customers respectfullyn3. Handle digital payments efficientlyn4. Work on communication among themselvesn5. Take individual and departmental accountability for poor customer experiencennHere is the full story.nnFour days ago, I arrived at your store with the intention to purchase 2 iPhone 16 models. The staff received me could not provide much in-depth knowledge or personal insights into your products. Instead, they mostly read off displayed information on screens. Pressed for time, I processed to payment within 30 minutes. It took about 10 minutes for the products to be brought over. After I tagged my phone on an eftpos machine, the staff who took my payment simply disappeared without explanation.nnWhen I asked for clarification, a blond lady with glasses and tattoos on her arms said to me “I don’t know who you have spoken to so far. We have 140 staff today. Please go back and wait where you have been told to.” Another 10-15 minutes passed before another lady came over and informed me that my payment had not been processed, despite my Apple Pay and bank App both suggesting otherwise.nnWhen I asked for assistance, I was told “sometimes technology fails and it failed you today”, “the money is in limbo at the moment” and “there is not much we can do about it”. Eventually, I had to contact my bank, which confirmed that Apple needed to initiate an online request to complete the payment process.nnAfter more clarification, explanation and waiting around, Sam at the Genius Bar returned with my products and receipts, stating that the payment had been processed. Unfortunately, by this point, the entire ordeal had taken up my afternoon and cost me a parking ticket. A subsequent call to your Customer Relations team offered me no understanding or compensation. Instead, I was referred to your Sales Department to “place an order online”.nnTo summarise my experience:nn* I wasted several hours at your store due to issues with your internal payment handling.n* I was left in the dark when issues occurred and treated dismissively by multiple staff.n* I incurred a parking fine that I planned well to avoid due to the inefficiency of your team.nnGiven the time and cost of this experience, I made the decision to switch to Google. My local JB Hi-Fi helped me purchase two Pixel 9 and a Pixel Watch at a similar price all within 30 minutes. Additionally, a $700 bonus discount and a complimentary watch band were offered to me as part of the deal.
