generally nice good but I had really bad experience with Blenheim branch of ANZ. I was trying to deposit a check from a well known brokerage account; the first time everything was ready to go but I didn't bring my passport; the second time when I brought all document with me, a teller Kylie is the name? said many irrelevant things; check will not be used in NZ soon, why I came to Blenheim branch not Nelson branch, how I got the money, told me I HAVE TO SIGN THE CHECK IN FRONT OF HER even though I already have a signature at the designated area, check if I have enough money in my account in case the check get rejected, asked for my client number when she was holding my bank card. After 10 minutes of irrelevant harassments from her, she said she didn't have enough information to accept the check, when I ask her what information she needs to deposit my check she told me to check online. I then pointed out to her the name of the brokerage and related bank to the check she still insisted "we don't accept 'that'" gesturing toward my passport and check. her colleague from the next counter stepped in trying to resolve her issues, at the end she ask me for me phone number and said she'd have a "discussion" with the management. the next day she did call me back and told me it's all good to deposit my check... Meanwhile in Nelson ANZ, I brought the check and my passport and deposited the check in 10 minutes, the teller at this branch on the other hand was very professional and polite. sure, it's a complicated process deposit a check from another country but I didn't need 3 visits to a bank to get a check deposited. Bravo to the Nelson branch
Not so good experience with ANZ Blenheim branch. After standing in the queue for more than 20 minutes, the teller asked me to use the phone banking and turned away. The ANZ Bank staff of Blenheim branch definitely needs some training on customer service and management. I now regret for banking with ANZ .
