Pepper fish tasted like fish Manchurian with sprinkles of pepper. Dragon chicken was way over fried. Chicken was chunky rather tender and juicy. Chicken 65 was good. Perfectly fried and tender. Really did taste like what you'd get in indian anjappar. Also we were left with three entrees in our table and had no plates nor cutlery. Had to ask the waiter. C'mon shouldn't you guys serve the plates first before the entrees? Now we will move on to the mains. Butter naan was good but lacked enough butter. They felt too stingy probably even after they charged 5$ for a butter naan. They messed up our gravy. Gave us butter chicken masala instead of chicken tikka masala and we were charged until I pointed out their mistake. So we weren't charged. The butter chicken masala was horrible. They added chicken tikka pieces into butter chicken masala and gave this awful combination. Chettinad chicken masala was average. We really did enjoy the fried rice and then the mushroom Manchurian masala was just too greasy. Overall food was below average. As a food lover I had to tell the owner about the food. Owner was alright and he apologized. He also blamed the crowd but c'mon you can't blame the crowd for bad food. Should have had enough staff or training.
Excellent service, Good and tasty Southindian food. Chef is from T-Nagar chennai so we can feel the difference in taste. Ordered mutton soup and it's yummy. Chilly Kothu roti is great. And biryani is amazing. One of the best. Going there 2nd time this weekend.
Ideal place for Indian cuisine where you can enjoy variety of authentic chetinad dishes. Rabbit fry is one of the best starters! Consistency in Briyani and Kottu rotti is to be followed...
Service was good, waitress was friendly and the food, Veg Tali was delicious. Loved the atmosphere and the Indian music in the background. Only small problem, quite a few things we tried to order were out of stock, only a small problem as there were plenty of other great things to choose. Prices were very fair for the beautiful food. Will definitely be back!
Poor service ... If u order food at 9 pm, the waitress starts looking at the wall clock and replies to the the customers that “ i have to check in the kitchen “ why do u open the restaurant if u are not sure that the food will be available or not.. ?
We had an event recently for about 56 people, the staff was great in offering different choices of menu for reasonable price, and they helped in arranging the buffet too, however if they included chair covers, sashes and soft drinks in the price, as most restaurants do, that will be great. Overall, the food was delicious, the best biriyani in Melbourne. Tastes exactly like Chennai Anjappar.. most of our guests became their regular customers.
Ordered via Menulog... The Good: Quite tasty with a good amount of heat for my taste The Bad: 25 minutes late and cold. Called to complain but staff couldn’t care less and manager not available The Ugly: Small portions and delivery charge for an order over $60. Total rip off as meat dishes only had four pieces of which most was bone. Veggie dish was made from frozen veg thrown into a sauce. Conclusion: Avoid, there are many better places that offer value for money.
Had a event at Anjappar Rowville over the weekend with 50 guests, and all we had to do was choose a menu, the staff took it upon themselves to serve impeccable food at a good price, attending to all the guests constantly and consistently with a smile on their face. They had a photographer that we didn’t even ask for take wonderful pictures of the event. All the guest complimented the food and service and the party was quite successful. I’d especially have to credit Ishi for her excellent organization. Would definitely highly recommend!
I would never recommend this place for anyone who is looking for tasty south indian Biriyani chicken/goat/kaadai. If you know the real taste of biriyani already, don’t ever try their food. Its worst - taste like tomato rise. We bought two different biriyani and both rise taste like tomato Rice. When they opened this restaurant for the first time, we tried their food it was ok so we thought may be this is their first time here, going forward they will improve their quality of the food for the price we pay. But its been a year still, they do cook stuff that they dont know..!!! Waste of money with them!!!
Staff were friendly. Food was ok. Decor needs a lot of work, no effort put in to make it inviting. Worst part, beer list was good, but after ordering was told less than half of the options were available. Located 2 minute walk from 3 different bottle shops! Very poor.
