What a great pub, lovely clean and warm. Meals were absolutely magnificent, our group of 8 loved them all. I had the flank steak and it was cooked perfectly. Very tasty piece of meat. Staff were all lovely and welcoming, highly recommend
3 years since my last visit, and what a disappointment. I returned because it was a fantastic meal, well cooked and flavoured beautifully…. It has fallen so far in the food aspect I was devastated! $40 beef ribs! Yeah boi…. Yeah nah. One rib arrived, undercooked, seasoned poorly, and seemed to have been smoked with green wood, which not only affects the flavour, but the cook temp as well….lest the undercooking. Paired with packet mix mashed potato and a coleslaw that was laced with fetta…. Guys, the acidity of a traditional coleslaw is there to break down the fats of the smoked meats. Please, don’t try to reinvent the wheel when it comes to smoked goods, and for the love of all that is smoked, use fresh ingredients and not packet crap!
We dined here tonight and were initially impressed by the venue. It’s a beautiful spot with plenty of potential. Unfortunately, the service ruined the experience, thanks to one incredibly rude waitress whose attitude left a lasting negative impression.nnOrdering food was confusing from the start. There’s no table service and there are no clear signs or directions about where or how to order. We were left standing around trying to figure it out, which already set the tone for a frustrating evening.nnWe asked about the wagyu steak special clearly advertised on the window, only to be barked at with, “That’s not the special,” despite it being right there in front of us. Instead of offering any clarification, the waitress dismissed us with a condescending tone. My husband ended up ordering the eye fillet, one of the more expensive items on the menu.nnWhen asked for our table number, we said we were at table 24 clearly labelled on the stand outside on our table only to be met with yet another rude snap back “We don’t have that number outside.” Unnecessary and completely uncalled for.nnThe food itself was decent, but the presentation wasn’t. The eye fillet arrived with nothing but a few chips - no salad, no garnish. When I questioned it, the same waitress snapped that the steak special didn’t come with salad. I reminded her we ordered the eye fillet, which the menu clearly states does include salad. She snatched the plate and walked off without a word.nnIt’s a real shame. The venue is lovely, but it’s completely let down by this staff member’s foul attitude. A bit of basic customer service would go a long way. Honestly, she’d be better off out the back cleaning rather than dealing with customers.
Ordered scotch fillet medium and it was so over cooked, the cheapest fry’s they could serve. The salad was actually the best thing on the plate but be warned you’re paying $52 for over cooked dry chewy meat and cheap nasty fry’s with water mushroom sauce
We originally went to try Harry O's BBQ, but nowhere did we see on their website that it wasn't available on Sundays. We stayed in the hope that the other menu was going to have something note worthy. Hubby had the smoked pork, which turned out to be a salad, not what he was expecting. The pork was mostly fat pieces, and he didn't enjoy it at all. I had the Caesar salad with smoked chicken, and it was mostly cos lettuce and the chicken had to have been from the day before. It was cold and dry. Overall, the meals weren't to our liking, but we were starving. We came, and we tried and probably won't return as we were on our way home after a weekend camping on the Murray.nThe venue is a well designed place, especially on a warm night like we had. Eating outside was a nice change from dining in a stuffy restaurant.
