Amazing experience to celebrate my friend's 50th birthday! Views were stunning even on a cloudy day. Food was excellent! Good range of choices in menus and dishes. Extensive wine list too. Service was friendly and helpful. Really lovely fine dining experience!
We had dinner during Vivid Sydney season and the menu was very well-curated. We were seated at table 53 and we had the perfect view of the vivid lights outside. Food was absolutely delicious, service was great and wine selection was on point. Highly recommend!
Abysmal! Was invited here for a high tea at lunch time on Saturday. We queued early with the other patrons for the 12pm booking. The staff seemed very confused by all the bookings and finally showed us to our table at 12.07 and then we were studiously ignored. Finally caught the attention of someone for water at 12.15. Managed to get the managers attention at 12.25 and were asked if our order had been taken. We said not and he promptly turned around and helped another table. Finally had another server take our order at 12.33. Very poor food service given that all the edibles would have been prepared in advance. The little treats were interesting and pleasant. The view is amazing. The tea service was equally slow. Then at 13.50 our bill was slapped on the table and we were informed that the sitting ended at 2pm and we would be moved to a table at the back if we hadn't finished our high tea. I pointed out that it had taken almost 40 minutes to be served. Was again studiously ignored. No apology. While the view is lovely, the service, food and ambience is definitely not worth the money that was paid. Would not recommend, would not come again.
Celebrated my bestie's birthday at The Altitude. Service was excellent, professional, and attentive. The atmosphere was warm, quiet, and serene. The decor and high ceiling surrounded by large open windows made the room feel like you were floating in the sky. High tea was delicious and satisfying. Note, when you make the booking, ensure you read the fine print regarding window seating, as there can be a minimum spend you must adhere to and could put you more out of pocket.
Restaurant with 5-star price and 4-star execution. The staff are helpful, the ingredients are top quality and the view is outstanding – better than Sydney Tower – but at $145 per person for a 3-course dinner drinks extra, we should have come away from the night feeling amazed... not merely satisfied. It’s great that staff check if there are any food allergies to be aware of, but it got a bit tiring after the fifth query. The background music in the restaurant is just so wrong. It should be elegant sophistication maybe even live music at these prices but certainly not pop song covers. Overall, the restaurant seems to have excellence within its reach, but unfortunately the execution falls short of the mark.
A fine selection of food , wine, champagne and the view uninterrupted of the Harbour, the Bridge and the Opera house. A pleasant day was had by all as we sampled the complete menu. A bit of a communication breakdown as one staff member misheard me order a $200 bottle of Champagne for a $500 bottle of Champagne, which the manager then opened and said we could have it for $300. I just feel a bit weird about the encounter as the cork was rock solid, meaning to me the bottle has not been stored properly. The food was as one should expect from a the 5 Star Shangri-la. I ordered a medium steak, you decide how it was cooked from the photos. Overall a pleasant experience. I think the Shangri-la has lost its Crown . And lastly $15 for 3 teaspoons of Ice Cream. Which wasn't available for my breakfast waffles. At any price.
A highly intimate way to spend a special evening with your significant other in one a this highly coveted establishment with the ultimate “window” experience of Sydney EVER! The service was outstanding the price reasonable for a 3course meal. My meals were innovative and a delight to the taste buds as you sit to slowly absorb the spectacular sunset view of Sydney! A night for love birds to remember !
Incredible view with average high tea. The food was mediocre and were it not for the magnificent view it would have fallen well short. The savoury section of ox tail slider, lobster roll and goat cheese tart were stale. The smoked salmon was good. The sweet section was also tasty. The view and Altitudes position cannot be exaggerated enough. The view is extraordinary. The staff were also excellent. Lovely greetings and attentive service. Dietaries were also catered for well.
Food is average. Staff are quite cold and uninterested in helping ensure you have a pleasant dining experience. I’ve been here 3 times and this last experience was by far the worst. Not sure what is going on but I will not be returning. I’d rather go to a restaurant which provides better food and service and does not force people to pay ridiculous amounts of money for a view which is available at other restaurants at no additional cost.
Was here for dinner before leaving Sydney, the place is really nice with an amazing view over the Opera and the Bridge. Service was really good and attentive, i recommend you to took the octopus, you won’t regret it. Prices are okay for a place like that. To be honest have no idea why they have that bad rating
