Just wanted to acknowledge Kylie from Alice Springs Tourist Centre who gave us such good information about what was going on in and around Alice. She was amazing and so friendly. Thanks KyliennAfter booking our tours for Uluṟu with Kylie we realised we had booked the wrong dates. We visited the Centre the next day and met the beautiful Tash who changed our booking without any trouble. She was absolutely delightful. Thanks for the wonderful service.nCan’t recommend this centre enough. It was the best.
Tash was SO helpful!! Thank you so much for all your advice. Super knowledgeable and funny. Cheers to the best visitor centre
Do NOT ask the old lady there for info on road conditions. I wanted to visit Newhaven Sanctuary and she said the roads leading there had no corrugation. That was a big fat misinformation, I'm glad my car didn't fall apart and if i hadn't had a 4wd I'd have got stuck in the deep sandy stretches on the way. The way out via Tanami road is awful with corrugation as well btw
I booked the field of lights tickets through the Alice Springs visitor centre and received a “your booking is cancelled due to unavailability” email straight back. So I then booked through the Uluru Visitor Centre. Minutes later I received an email from the Alice Springs visitor centre saying that I now had a booking through them. I now had double bookings so called the Alice Springs Visitor Centre to explain and receive a refund. How wrong I was to assume this would happen. I encountered Glen, the rudest, most patronising man I have ever dealt with. He accused me of lying even after I forwarded both emails showing time stamps, raised his voice at me, told me that what I was saying didn’t happen, didn’t listen to a word I was saying and was basically absolutely foul to deal with. Once I proved him wrong, he then said he would have to speak to “his finance team” to get a refund approved. Well that was well over a week ago and I’ve heard nothing back from the Alice Springs Visitor Centre. As someone who’s worked in tourism and hospitality for nearly 30 years, I’m so shocked that this man is the first contact for any visitor travelling to the red centre. Glen clearly hates his job and the tourists who pay his wage.
We visited the Alice Springs Visitor Information Centre during the West Macs Monster race this May and needed some basic info. Tash, the lady at the counter, was incredibly kind and super helpful. Not only did she give us the info we needed, but also shared tips you won’t find on the internet or maps.nShe even pointed us to the right place to buy some mandatory gear we were missing. After the race, we went back just to let her know we survived nTash is definitely the right person for the job—friendly, knowledgeable, and a great representative of Alice Springs and its surroundings!
