Came here for dinner and drinks with my colleague and was slightly disappointed with the overall experience. The service wasn’t quite attentive even though they were empty it was 5:30pm, the food wasn’t good - I asked for medium well steak and got one overly done see image, the desserts were terrible I wouldn’t recommend at all and the cocktails weren’t tasty, hard to drink really and all very tangy. I would expect more from Hoxtons. Sadly. Lovely venue though.
I would have to agree with most of the 3 star and below reviews. You cannot fault the atmosphere and the aesthetics of the restaurant, but the most important thing is the food and as a slightly high end establishment it failed to meet the standards that I expected. Having experienced the food at Eggbreak London I was rather disappointed at the two Eggbreak dishes on their menu. It did not meet the high standards at their stand alone branch in Notting hill. We decided to get a pastry and it was nice, but was surprised how burnt it came out. Overall it was average experienced let down by the food.
Our experience was quite poor. Went in on a Sunday at 8am. No guests at all - the place was absolutely empty-. Yet, the manager wouldn’t let us sit at a big table because they had circa 160 guests. In the 45 minutes we were in there, only another couple turned up. It’s a classic example of poor service. Orange juice isn’t fresh £5 a glass, service not included. The place is lovely and the breakfast was really good barring the juice. Amazing coffee. The service is disappointing -and I know as I work in a very similar industry-. If the whole restaurant is literally empty, let people sit anywhere for goodness’ sake.
I spotted this place on my way to an exhibition by the Riverside from Southwark station. It looked cosy so it made me want to check inside. Actually, I noticed that it is another brunch at Hoxton hotel and the lounge bar in Hoxton hotel Holborn is one of my favourite places to meet my friends and have a drink. There are seats for drinks and snacks on the right, and then on the left side is a restaurant. It was a cold day and staying in there made me feel at home. We ordered a cup of coffee with chips we were a little hungry... and stayed there for almost three hours. This is a lovely hidden gem that I would love to come back to many times. The staff were also lovely and helpful.
We had breakfast and dinner at Albie while staying at the hotel. The food was tasty, the staff vere curtious and friendly. We loved the relaxed atmosphere. Vegan options available!
Staying in the ibis Blackfriars in London for the weekend and we wanted somewhere nice to go for breakfast that wasn’t that far away, so we decided on this place and we were glad we did. Service from the staff was okay and not the best service. Just seemed slow and a little uninterested. As for the restaurant itself it had beautiful interior and somewhere you would like to sit and just chill out for a while. Would recommend this place to others it’s just the service which could be improved!

Edited: the place is really nice but too pricey. We visited for afternoon coffee and got charged £1 donation without asking. The Ricotta cake was £6 on the menu but got charged £7. Small juices cost £5 and not even fresh. 2 juices 2 coffees and 1 cake cost £28!!! We won’t be coming back.!!!! I like the restaurant as the ambience is really good. It’s so nice and cosy. The fried chicken meal was big portion and cheap but gochujang patty bun wasn’t good. I wasn’t impressed with the service as the waiter just left us waiting for the table and never came back to assist us. We went to gat table by ourselves after we realized no one was coming to bring us the table.
The atmosphere was relaxed, and waiting staff were so friendly. Food was delivered promptly and the portions were just right. A lovely relaxing lunch and would definitely visit again.
The food is decent, however the service is a bit lacking. It took us a while to get water, and when we ordered some sparkling water for the table, we had to get it ourselves because the server seemed to have forgotten it. The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice though.
