Dropped in when driving past in the afternoon. Bought a pair of great lamps, good price. The person running the store was fine, no complaints. You’ll notice all the 1 star reviews below have also only ever left one review, one negative review for this particular store. It’s clear it’s the same person leaving numerous 1 star negative reviews. I’d be extremely careful if I was that person, Defamation laws in Australia have changed, it now includes actively smearing someone’s business reputation via reviews or online in general. My last client won 180k for being victim to this exact same behaviour. Google will hand over your IP address/ GPS location immediately with a subpoena via the courts. Don’t be a fool. I’ve been going to A1 for over 10 years now, picked up so many great buys which I still have in my home even now, gees it’s been that long! Gary is a great store owner, he does get quite busy with buying and selling but hey, he’s a 1 man band so that’s to be expected. Just be like me, go annoy him and grab his attention because he’s always more than happy to help you find what you’re interested in and what you need or like, he’s super friendly like that. I’ve had bad experiences with this store before, but I still frequent it because they get some good music in. I travelled two hours to Melton specially to come here, the guy opened the store a full half hour later than the opening time that it said on the store window AND the website. The guy walked in the store shouting at his friend on the phone and continued to do so even with customers in the store. He charged me $8 for a super common Whitney Houston greatest hits cd, which case was broken and actively scratching the second disk, I asked if I could change it the case I’m paying four times more than I would be at Vinnies and he laughed and said “can’t help ya”. Me, my father and my friend that have been to the store all noted the rudeness of the owner, it seems to be a consistent thing. The 7” vinyl records are scratched, beaten up and half the time have chunks missing out of them, and there is just no thought or care put into the vinyl or cd storing whatsoever. The store is super cramped and many items for sale are borderline impossible to access. But, even with all that, the store does get some really cool stuff in and the prices usually aren’t totally outrageous. So, I would recommend the store if you’re willing to put up with laziness, dirtiness and rudeness in order to find some rare collectables
I go here to see what’s available. I’ve honestly never purchased anything because I find it overpriced. There was a nice sewing machine but wouldn’t negotiate the price. I’m ok with that, it’s a business but it doesn’t hurt to ask and they are generally used goods anyway so there wasn’t a warranty with it.
Poor service & overly priced. Had item on lay by only to find out they sold it on me. No one notified me asked if I still wanted it. Consumer affairs told me if I was notified I said no one. I called Saturday informed them was going to call in following Saturday to make final payment. Was told item sold. Consume Affairs said I was entitled to FULL refund. They refunded my money.
I am not usually one to write a review, but Gary the store owner was extremely rude. The store was filthy and cluttered. I’m not sure how someone sleeps at night knowing that they cash in on the misfortunes of others. Ie stolen goods
The worst customer service I have ever experienced! We arrived for 11am opening, as per Website, and the shop wasn't open until 12. Returned at 12 to still not opened, finally at 12.20 the rude man showed up but needed to put everything out the front before serving customers. He did say I could help to which I laughed and called him rude. He knew my son was there because he had sold him a gen 1 rather than gen 2, as advertised the week before but was not apologetic at all and thought it was very reasonable that customers should wait for him to finish before serving them. REALITYCHECK
Usually I am not one to leave reviews but the customer service was awful. The place was a mess. We where watched whilst looking at the item we where to buy, then told our one was outside. Agreed to buy the item. After we payed we asked for help to load on our trailer as the item was large and heavy, he said no and that it’s all our job, we have to do it ourselves and that he was busy, dude you didn’t have many customers. We weren’t very pleased. Then he made a very offensive and disrespectful comment. All the bad reviews are true.

The shop owner was really rude to me. He doesn't know how to treat a customer. He was keep insulting me because asks for discount. The store was messy and everything was everywhere.. I felt like crying because he was keep telling me I'm in drugs or something when I was only asked him can he reduce the price. It's not fair to a customer when someone stupid person who open a shop with a 2nd hand stuff and selling it with high price. And when customers ask him for reduce the price he behave really rude.
