Love this place. Awesome ramen, delicious broth, and tasty plum wines! The service staff and chef are so friendly, smiley, and attentive. Also very good value for the quality of food - cheap prices for what you get! A+++Food: 5/5
Probably the ramen noodle cooking mistakes you guys. It's too much boil ramen noodle. I'm afraid, I've never eaten garbage like this ramen here in NZ. I'm astounded. Japanese men's staff couldn't explain what's the difference between champon and ramen. Seasoning bottles was extremely dirty and sticky. When I ordered chips for my son, he didn't understand why my son can't eat a lot of red hot chili peppers on mayo. Normally kids can't eat a lot of red hot chili peppers. Maybe we was harassed. But I saw he was causing trouble with other customers. Kid-friendliness: I saw they had a high chair. Cautions, your little ages will be get a lot of red hot chili peppers from them if you order chips.
5 star experience! Walked into an empty restaurant, was greeted by the host/owner who was just lovely and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious, huge portion sizes and amazing value!!! We will be back Food: 5/5
Slightly different from your more traditional ramens or the likes of aijisen for example-ramen had a more, clean? taste to it, made well, decently sized portions and prompt service. Zoolmen was yum, recommend this reduction for those like me who aren’t big fans of soup!! Homely meal if you’re down for a good bowl of noods less the super flavored intense flavor and favoring more clean and hmm perhaps elegant is the word to describe it?
Best ramen in NZ. Blue fin tuna season now! Great sashimiFood: 5/5
~$20/person Amazing food, friendly and attentive staff, large portions, rich broth, and well cooked noodles! We had the tonkotsu pictured further away and the tantan pictured closer. I will absolutely be returning to this restaurant
So disappointed because i trusted the reviews online! I just came back from zool zool and i ordered the tuna ramen i asked the waiter what would be in the dish besides the tuna and he was didnt really know. I shouldve asked him to go and ask the chef but he was the only server and he was already running around taking orders from customers downstairs and upstairs. So i had faith and ordered it. When it finally came it was just a small piece of tuna maybe 50grams noodles, soup and little bit of spinach I think. It looked so sad and whats worse it tasted so salty and plain i can make it better at home. I also ordered a glass of pinot for $14 for a quarter of a normal glass. I was so disappointed because its so expensive for what it is at this restaurant. I think people just go there cause its the only ramen place at mt eden village. Not going there again.
Interesting concept of ramen bar with great customer service - we had the Tonkotsu and Tantan ramen and they’re quite nice.Food: 5/5
What we ordered: Cherry and pomegranate soda $5.5 Shoyu ramen $19 + Gyoza Karaage chicken Takoyaki I don't remember how much any of these cost I ordered the shoyu ramen and the noodles were bouncy and delicious. The broth was really nice and savoury but I would still recommend you douse it in garlic and sesame cause it just makes everything better. The pork was also very thick cut and tender, which I loved. I also tried a little bit of the chicken from someone else's ramen but it was very juicy and not dry at all so yay!! The gyoza were delicious, the karaage chicken was super crunchy and still juicy on the outside and the takoyaki never fails. My only real complaints were that the egg was a bit cold and I wasn't a huge fan of the drinks. The food is amazing, the drinks are not except for the calpico soda which is incredible
Great little neighbourhood Ramen restaurant, came here a few times, food standard and services consistently very good. Very well priced for Mt Eden. The highlights for me always are some ramen you can choose up to 4 levels of spiciness, short waiting time and really fresh, delicious appetisers.
