One of the best badminton hall in Christchurch. The lighting is a bit glary though compared to the courts I have been to in Auckland. Saying that, the owner is friendly, the courts are well kept, it’s quite clean and have shower facility, I will keep coming back when I’m back in Christchurch.
Good infrastructure. There's coaching for kids on Tuesday evenings. Non marking shoes must for players. Facility closes at 6:30pm.nThere's a store here from where you can borrow non marking shoes. If you find playing comfortable you can buy one from them. Buying is not mandatory you can always give a try.
The Zhu Badminton Centre is an excellent facility that has made a significant contribution to badminton in Christchurch. Many clubs can play there and pass on reasonable prices for 2+ hours of badminton. Owing to their WBF tournament standard courts, they can be used for training and I imagine even hosting tournaments. The centre truly fills a need for a dedicated badminton facility in Christchurch and New Zealand in general.
As the only court in the area the two owners esp the old lady is a bit bossy. Also, the fresh air system is poor. The roof is leaking. Won't be there again.
The best badminton court in Canterbury Christchurch in term of court and environment, the rubber court are up to standard, owner are friendly, well take care of the court. Well done.nnYou can find all you need for badminton coaching for children, adult badminton training. Badminton coach Alfred is friendly is a nice guy, can see from the smile.nnIf you are looking for badminton game, UCBC club is the better average level so far i met in Canterbury.nnThe important thing is UCBC are using feather shuttlecock, when I just came to Christchurch I was shocked that there are many group are still using plastic shuttlecock.nnBut anyway lucky that found 2 club that I feel comfortable, friendly. UCBC and Cashmere badminton club.nnAlthough not very good quality of shuttlecock like what we usually use in Singapore like RSL supreme, RSL Ultimate, but is good enough. Enjoy a lot my days in Christchurch Canterbury.nnEric Chuar.
