A beautiful cricket ground located in the center of the city. Typical New Zealand cricket ground style with a small pavilion and seating area with chairs. Rest is all grass banks to come and enjoy the game while sitting on the grass. Plenty of food trucks on the banks to buy from, while you can also bring your food and enjoy a picnic style meal while watching the match. The floodlights add more options to the venue with day night games being arranged. The ground gets good share of international cricket held in New Zealand each summer. Plenty of parking spaces available around the ground as well as street parking on the adjacent road. While access by public transport is also convenient and the walk from road to stadium is also very green and pleasant. The ground is also located at a 10 minute walk from the Christchurch botanical gardens.

A perfect summer place to be. Visited during Pakistan's T20is against the Black Caps! Perfect setting. Great weather. Good arrangement. An absolute treat. Hope to get back soon for some good cricket!
Great place to watch cricket. I've visited both for local Canterbury games and the international test match NZ vs AUS. The openness of the ground for the one-day and 4 day Plunkett Shield matches make this an amazing spot to spend an afternoon watching cricket.nnWhen an international or paid event is on the actual entrance into the ground was speedy and while there was a queue it was constantly moving with no long wait. There was also plenty of toilet facilities provided and the food options gave a good variety that should suit most tastes.nnA particularly nice benefit was the FREE water stations and FREE suncream located around the ground making sure you're looking after yourself!
Best cricket ground in NZ. Beautiful.
