Woolworths Northcote

One of the early Countdown stores, nicely situated in the Northcote shopping centre area. Parking are part of the shopping centre. Pricing are typical Countdown. Interior has been modernised and now it feel refreshing. Staff members are helpful, and variety are quite good.

We visited and before entering checkout this large white women yelled at us from across the till, she made us feel as if we were not welcome to be served, she watched us from her till the WHOLE time we shopped, passively aggressively, we felt incredibly profiled. Completely unacceptable.

A frustrating place to shop. I have lived adjacent to this Countdown/Woolworths for nearly 8 years. Over that time, it has slowly gotten worse in almost every conceivable way. Stock variety has reduced, shopping hours have reduced, trolleys are old and often look dirty and they havent implemented any form of self-checkout service. They have a few friendly checkout staff but they are one of the few positives.

This place has lovely staff but unfortunately the owner seems to be a major problem, as they are frequently out of stock of very standard items, and have been massively reducing their level of service over the last 2 years. I live 200m from the store but recently I've been forced to travel further afield to reliably get the basic items I require good luck if you want peanuts, for example, which they have permanently stopped stockingnnThey have also reduced their hours to closing at 8pm, do not have any self-check outs, l and only have a max of about 5 checkouts ever working at one time. Thus the lines are often frustratingly long, for no good reason.nnWould love to see a change for the better, but I'm not holding my breath.
