Best char kuey teow in town as of writing. You don't get much meat but you definitely get the wok hei aroma and the secret ingredient called keropok fried pork lard pieces that elevates it to the next level. Fried mee is good, wat tan hor is good, hokkien meeting ie so-so. Note - this is as close to the real thing you can get in Auckland so if you can't eat chilli hot Malaysian level, stick to mild. Thank goodness they don't bastardised the chilli factor to Kiwi level. Decor is nice for a suburban restaurant. This place is good for days you don't want to cook but eat relatively cheap and good fare. Recommend.
Yummy Malaysian food in e west auckland. Recommend to try!!! It tasted like how it should be back in Malaysia.
Good dishes, tried their fried noodles and curry laksa. Single size portions can be a bit limiting when you want a little extra. Promising.
If you're after Malaysian or any oriental cuisine this is a must! The flavors are absolutely on point, the serving size is generous, service is perfect and to top it off the price is amazing! Will definitely be eating here more often!
Just discovered this place. Very pleasantly surprised how authentic tasting the foods are and excellently priced as well! The wat tan hor and the chicken curry with roti was great and I say that as a born and bred Malaysian well used to these foods. Well done and keep up the good cooking. Will certainly come back.
Fantastic food. It's a limited spread, but what they do have is authentic and very tasty. Personal favourite is the beef rendang, without the supplies rice and roti it's actually keto safe with only a gram or 3 of sugar.
Stop by after visiting a car shop. Didn't expect such quality, authentic and highly reasonable meal. Friendly, family run restaurant. Definitely a must go if you like or do not like spicy food, as the chef will always make a custom dish according to your taste.
First time trying this place and pleasantly surprised. The staff are lovely and the prices are more than reasonable. I was expecting higher prices considering the niche style of the restaurant. Definitely street eat style and very tasty. I will be back for sure.
When it first opened, it was the 2nd best place in NZ to get char kuay teow behind Malaysian Noodle House from which it had branched out from but it quickly improved to match it. However, KL Cafe which I found in early 2019 is now my best place to have not just char kuay teow but Malaysian food in general.
If you want a truly unique Malaysian experience their secret family recipe Char Kuay Teow is a must try! Amazing food, friendly faces and a stunning shop.
