10/10 would sail again! We had the best day exceeded all expectations. Avon and Mihaela are wonderful hosts. Their expertise and enthusiasm created an unforgettable experience. From navigating crystal-clear waters to providing insightful commentary, every moment aboard was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Plus they totally embraced our family tradition of dressing as Pirates! Can’t wait to come back!

Last week we did a Day Trip to Mercury Islands. It's was a perfect day. Avon and Mihaela is an awesome couple, very friendly, accommodating and know so many interesting stories and knowledge about the sailing, which they happily share. And Winborne itself is a very beautiful schooner. We anchored at Peachgrove Bay, which is magical. Water was so clear despite overcast. There you can swim, paddle board or snorkelling. And not to forget very tasty lunch and many treats and snacks during the trip. I highly recommend Avon and Mihaela! We will definitely come back again

Our family day out on Windborne has definitely been a highlight of the summer! Avon and Michaela were fantastic hosts and their hospitality throughout the day was faultless. We cruised past Catherdral Cove then to an awesome blowhole spot for a swim, before putting up the sails and letting the wind take us home. BYO food and drink makes it great value for money, and pirate costumes are encouraged! Would highly recommended a trip on Windborne to anyone visiting the Coromandel.

This had to have been one of the best days we’ve had in recent times. Yes the weather was fantastic, but more then that; Mihaela and Avon are the most amazing people and wonderful hosts. Avon is a sailing legend who clearly knows his stuff, and you can tell the love and care he’s put into his beautiful boat. Mihaela is the hospitality queen! The Mediterranean lunch spread she put on was unbelievable not to mention the coffee/croissants/fruit platter/cheeseboard’s that just happen to show up right when you want them. Highly highly highly recommend Windbourne for an amazing day out!

What an amazing day! The boat is gorgeous and sails so beautifully. Captian Avon let us participate and he is so knowledgeable with a lot of GREAT stories. And Michaela was such a fantastic co-Captian. So sweet, great to talk to, and got us some great snacks to munch on. Definitely worth it! Highly recommend.

This grand old vessel is over 90 years old. She is lovingly kept seaworthy by her Captain and crew and sails beautifully. A great way to explore the coastlines and survey the amazing rock features on the sea. Mihaela and Avon are gracious hosts and are very well acquainted with the area. An ideal and stable platform for families with younger kids.

This trip was nothing short of Magical! We will be in NZ for two months and will certainly count this as a highlight. Avon and Mihaela were wonderful hosts and the boat was a beautiful classic schooner. While Captain Avon regaled us with stories of sailing he is quite colorful, and information of NZ,Mihaela made sure we were well taken care of. We spent most of the time under sail, and in conversation with our well informed hosts and other guests learning lots about this country. We dropped anchor for lunch and a swim… Perfect day! At the end we felt like we made new friends.

We had a wonderful day out on the sea sailing with Avon and Mihaela aboard Windborne. A full day of fun and relaxation with superb food throughout the day made aboard the yacht by Mihaela. This charter was excellent value for money and it was such a privilege to sail with two people passionate about the ocean and all that it has to offer, if there were more people like these two the world would be a better place. Thank you for sharing your beautiful old girl and for the great yarns Avon. We’ll be recommending your charter to our friends and family.

Excellent! We had a fine day on a 100-year-old schooner. We anchored off Great Mercury Island for a few hours. On the way back we were under sail, an happy experience. Avon and Mihaela do a splendid job of sailing the ship, feeding the passengers, and providing all sorts of interesting information.

We charterd Windborne for an extended family outing in early January and we were treated to a fabulous day. Avon went out of his way to keep the children in the group engaged -sharing jokes, having them ''walk the plank'' and help with hurling the sails. The lunch organised by Mihaela was superb and very much enjoyed by everyone. A great way to explore Mercury Bay and a fun, relaxed, intergenerational family experience. Happy memories made!
