Welcome to “Where's Charlie?” Fine Vietnamese Cuisine

At ‘Where's Charlie’, we do our best to introduce the diverse flavours of Vietnamese cuisine.

We have worked hard at developing our menu to ensure that our food remains traditional and every mouthful is a journey to Vietnam. We use fresh free range meat and produce as well as authentic herbs and spices directly from the local markets and suppliers.

‘Where's Charlie’ aims to bring you fantastic Vietnamese food at very reasonable prices. We would like to invite you to begin your Vietnamese culinary journey with us and we do hope you enjoy the experience.

My partner and I ordered food from Where's Charlie Thorndon through uber eats tonight. What we received was honestly quite sad. The salad looked old and the overall portion is not worth the price. Our order came relatively quickly but the quality of the food makes me not want to return to this specific branch.
Huge salad! Double meat with crunchy chicken and tofu. Would get prawn instead of tofu next time. So yum excellent value
I ordered the rare beef pho and it was full of chopped up lettuce.....disgusting and soggy! There was literally 4 pieces of overcooked beef and the broth was just over powered by the lettuce cooking in the broth. I won't be wasting my money again here. Really disappointed and would not recommend.
4 of us arrived for dinner on a Saturday night. We found one young lad serving at the counter, serving the tables, looking after the bar, dealing with the takeaways, and prepping the meals for the chef. It was a shambles. We were seated by the kitchen and I watched him come from the counter to the kitchen and use his hands to place noodles into bowls without wasting hands and no gloves. Hygiene practices at this restaurant are non existent Suffice to say we will not be returning.
When they say spicy beef pho, believe it. I love spicy food but that blew my head off, so beware!

We came in early and the food was prepared fast. My partner is celiac and they had lots of options for her. Cold Vietnamese coffee is a must. I also enjoyed the summer rolls
This place is very nice. I will definitely go back again.
Unfortunately arrived to find that our order was quite a bit more expensive than advertised on the online menu, and the food was completely bland - even some salt would have helped. Veges seemed to be out of the freezer as well, and no sign of the coriander or other garnishes described on menu.
The food is good but the experience I had with a staff member scowling at me when I asked for extra side plates was appalling and a real put off. We have been regular customers on a Saturday but have never had a warm reception from the staff at the Thorndon cafe. Terrible customer service! May be get some trained staff and you might have more customers coming in!
