Wellesley on the Lake Taupo

Great to have a choice in terms of price smack on the waterfront. A small bunk room w shower and toilet for $100. Very helpful and friendly staff. Meals of an evening available. Breakfasts weekends only. Second stay here. Germanic in stature the log mansion style is authentic throughout. There is a Social club too. Definitely worth a visit.

Great value for money. While decor is a bit dated room was very clean, tidy and warm. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside is not enough onsite parking for all guests meaning park on the road if you’re late or go out for dinner and you’ll loose your park.Rooms: 5/5

Very disappointed after paying nearly $300 for one night for a lake view studio there are no cooking or even heating facilities in the room other then a kettle which has to be put on the floor so the plug can reach, the room was filthy, shower hose leaked and sprayed water everywhere, and no car parks. Tried to talk to staff for refund so we could go elsewhere or even just to get some recognition but they seemed to not care much and brushed our issues off. Will not be coming here ever again.

Enjoyable stay . Exceptionally clean . Modern bathroom but shower / bath is very narrow . No air conditioning , room would be very hot in summer . Lack of onsite parking . Signage could be improved as the car park is shared with the bar/restaurant and I thought initially I had parked at the wrong place. Still a nice place I would visit again .

Great location but not enough parking, needs alot of maintenance very outdated. Both taps were very hard to turn off. Light bulb missing in side light. No security stays on window which made it impossible to leave open during night. Room didn't have a alarm clock. Carpet had come away from bathroom door way which was a tripping hazard and sharp bits were exposed. But cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic location but room and service was lacking My room door is misaligned with the door frame and doesn't close properly by itself. It requires a manual yank to shut and lock properly and I had expected the facilities staff to be aware of this. Huge mistake. To my horror, I found my room door was not closed and left unlocked when I returned at the end of the day, presumably after the turn down service. Anyone could have just walked in and take off with my belongings. While it is stated that there wasn't any inroom safe at the point of booking, it shouldn't be unreasonable to expect a basic security measures of ensuring that the room is properly locked after turn down service is completed. Reported this to the front desk and while the lady at the reception acknowledged my feedback, there wasn't any follow up done. It will have felt better if they had bothered to send someone to check the room and look into the problem. I had requested for the front desk to email the invoice to me as I had to do an early check out the following day, and she didn't follow up either.

The room served it purpose and was in a great area. Very disappointed with groups not adhering to a waiver we had to sign about noise, parties and antics after 9pm. No sleep on 3rd night as an intoxicated group used the pool & spa area that closed at 9pm. Consumed alcohol which wasn't allowed and yelled and run up down hallways. Mgmnt did nothing.

Clean tidy room in a great location! Couldn’t get over how lovely the courtyard, pool and spa were for the price! Staff were really kind to talk too and weren’t pushy when our payment bounced. Thanks guys can’t wait to return! :Rooms: 5/5

Close to lake front. Small room but cozy and comfortable. Had all we needed; comfy bed, towels, shampoo, etc. The only downside was lack of aircon, and it was aveey humid night. So with 4 adults in the room it got very warm!Rooms: 4/5

The worst service and hotel I have ever stayed in my experience barely any car parks, walked into my room the first day to only find the ceiling full of bugs, dead bugs on the window seals. Thin walls can hear the next door people. Hotel rooms looks nothing like the photos thats been advertised. Would not recommend anyone to this place.
