New Zealand's best collection of classic cars, warbirds, art and 1950s diner, as well as retail shop. Great, affordable, family activity in Wanaka.

Story

Warbirds & Wheels showcases a diverse collection of warbirds aircraft, classic cars, visual arts and tales of a local legend. Our Classic Car collection is a superb lineup of vehicles dating from early 20th century to the present. The Warbirds trace the evolution of fighting aircraft alongside tales of the men who flew them, the Kiwi Fighter Ace collection. A large collection of Grahame Sydney lithographs and Wanaka Wearable Creations. To top it off the Diner at W’n’W features 1950’s themed décor, with retro furniture to relax into.

Not as busy as we thought it would be but food was amazing and coffee was good. Good portion sizes and reasonably priced however service was a little slow entering into the museum. Cafe wise would return! Museum was interesting and informative.
We only had lunch there ... the food was good . Next time ill give the museum a go ... would be cool if they give you a discounted ticket if you also dined there ....just saying ...

Large open space building cold interior with a variety of well kept vintage vehicles and aircraft from world war 1 days and 1960s. Clean and tidy, souvenir shop and cafe complete with 1960s Werlitzer jukebox. Plenty of information and /or videos accompanying each vehicle. Take a trip back in time... nostalgic for older folks.
PRIORITISE this in your MUST SEE list - you won't be disappointed!!
Loved it was a cool place, interesting cars will worth a visit
Some great great old cars but museum was small compared to Bill Richardsons in Invercargill, worth a visit though
