Loved Alchemy! Had stunning cocktails and dinner while in town and really enjoyed it. Great vibe, lovely staff and yummy food. Their bfast was also super yum!
Brunch on a busy Saturday morning. Love the vibes and customer service is impeccable. The eggs and toast are on point too.
There's some serious issues with how the lunch menu is constructed. The footnote mentions that the food is supposed to be shared, only there's no mention with how many. I ordered squid bun, and got one 1 bun, apparently to be shared with one person, that one person being myself. We didn't get separate plates or any sort of explanation on how the sharing is supposed to work, either. The food had some resemblance of nice flavors, but all dishes were a tad too oily. The price point and the quality absolutely didn't meet. Additionally, this might sound like nitpicking but we were moved from the nice window-seat table we were originally sat at, only that table to remain unseated the whole time we were there
Had dinner here and thought the food/drinks were great as was the setting/ambiance as it is close to the water. Didn't think the service was all that good since our server fellow with a french accent - I think his name may have been Kevin but not sure didn't come out with the menu when we were seated outside I had to remind him after he took so long and I needed to remind him that I ordered a drink after a very very long wait - and he didn't bring it out but the bartender did. In the end he wanted me to tip him, which I did - but I didn't think I really should have since the service was a bit poor and tipping is optional in NZ. The bartender was great however - and though the food was great I thought that the server needs to do better. All in all great place and worth checking out outside of what I had mentioned but this one thing did leave a bad taste in my mouth about Alchemy.
Went here with my wife with a first table booking. The staff were excellent, and knew what they were doing. Ordered the pork belly, and it was delicious! Also ordered a side of potatoes, which was delicious as well, and went well with the dish. Portion size is a little small, so if you're a big eater, grab a side. Had both inside and outside seating, with a gorgeous club-style aesthetic. Will be back if ever in the area again!
Having spent two weeks travelling around the south island... This place wins the best food prize. The Korean chicken was a highlight as was the white fish. All the rest were tasty and well presented. The lamb was a little tough though. Lovely service under a setting sun over the lake. Hard to beat.
We came here for dinner with a large group on a busy Saturday night… it was one of the highlights of our trip to NZ - the food was incredible we are still talking about it 2 weeks later, the cocktails were unique and delicious, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Make sure you stop in here if visiting Wanaka!
AMAZING ALL ROUND I’m a vegetarian and lactose intolerant and this was THE BEST place in Wanaka we could find. The ambience, the service, the food - excellent. A+ would come again. Made our honeymoon!
Best brunch I've had. Have to recommend the pork belly! The food was great, this is a cute cafe with an amazing view
The food at this Bar and Bistro is nice but I would never go back, it's ridiculously too expensive $50 for a piece of low grade steak. This came out literally just cut up into pieces and put on a plate that's it! I appreciate it being tough times but it seems that more and more now you are paying more, much more for less and less. I would have given half a star if it were possible.
