Urbano Bistro Cafe & Restaurant

Exceptional food, absolutely nothing to faulter - possibly one of the best fillets I've taken this year. We also took the lamb, which was also to die for! Service was great, smiling and considerate, and quite fast too. Price is standard European city prices - possibly cheaper than some European cities also. Well done guys!

No booking online but filling in the enquiry form worked. Wonderful chowder starter for me and lamb spring rolls for the boss. Mains were pork and chicken. This is the only minus ... My broccoli was stone cold and the boss' carrots too undercooked to actually cut with the knife. Meat was superb and the accompanying sauces. Service a little slow, but boy, they were busy!

We have been going to this restaurant for 7 years and almost every time is good. My favorite is the ostrich in their hidden menu. However today is really disappointing!!! We ordered an 8 hours pork from kids menu for my son. I remember this was hot in adults menu cos I ordered few times before. I checked with the lady if this is not spicy in kids menu? Answered ‘not spicy’, so I ordered for my son. ThereforeWe got a spicy and hot kids food!!! I told the lady and she said would tell the chef. My son only picked up some fries from the deep, rest of them were still there and they take them away. Finally they gave us $5 discount for the dish my son was not able to eat it. It was $26.9. If you want to pay $20 for the food you are even not able to eat it, Urbano is a good choice.

My friend and I had dinner here for two evenings during our first trip to Rotorua. The dishes were great and so did the service. Also, the portions were quite large!nHighly recommend the lamb and pork. They were so tender and juicy.

Visiting Rotorua for 5 days and we ate brunch here twice! Delicious kai served on hot plates bonus! & yummy coffee with a variety of milk options, a clean & chill vibe space with excellent service by the team - our kinda pit stop! Urbano Habo dish was a fav and the Bloody Mary was lovely & refreshing. Catering to our toddler who is a fussy eater was also super helpful & staff remembered our coffee order from the first visit so “same again” was a lovely surprise we don’t see often enough around NZ.
