Really great walk - start and end at the Carpark. Walk takes around 40 mins and doesn't have any steps only a slight gradient Walk takes you around the dam, on the dam and has a nice picnic area at the end. Also a tramline which I have no idea where it goes or if it runs. Very popular place for dogs :
Very easy walk. Didn't even realize that it has been 80mins return already. It's so doable. The track has great views of falls and the dam. Refreshing sceneries.
Very good place to do hiking with family. Easy walk and good view. Walk from car park to the dam about 30mins. Allowed to bring dogs but need to be on leash.
1.5hr return easy walk from the upper nihotupo trail carpark. Beautiful and shaded walk. The walk offers couple of waterfalls and a few streams leading to the dam. No stream crossing so no need to worry about getting your feet wet!
Stunning place and amazing view! The sounds of birds, rivers, streams ..makes the hiking heavenly!!
Good drive and amazing walk in shades. Kids can walk too. Dam sight is fabulous.
Good walk, even in the rain, only rated it a 4/5 because it's quite a simple walk, and it's a bit exposed in poor weather. Apart from that I really enjoyed it, some great waterfalls and views down the valley.
Splendid walk! One of the few places were you can actually walk to the bottom of the dam! Only a 40 min walk one walk which is fairly easy to complete, straightforward path to follow. The carpark can get full during the weekend so that's something to bear in mind, this is a very popular place.
You must have a reasonable level of fitness to walk to the bottom of the dam and back. Around 3 hours to get there and back. Very cold in some sections so dress appropriately. 2 toilets along the trails, both longdrops. One near the start around 10 mins in and the other at the last rest area before you reach the bottom of the dam. Great walk spectacular views. Not good for little children unless your willing to carry them back up the trail. Bring a packed lunch and carry out your rubbish.
Nice flat track, around 40 minutes one way, lots of baby waterfalls along the way, one nice big waterfall and beautiful view from the dam
