Unitec is New Zealand’s largest Institute of Technology, with more than 20,000 students studying over 150 work-oriented programmes. We offer world leading contemporary applied employment-focused education at our three campuses across Auckland

Unitec are proud to announce we have joined the Institute of International Education’s (IIE), Generation Study Abroad initiative to help more Americans to gain international experience through study abroad programs.
IIE’s Generation Study Abroad seeks to mobilize resources and commitments with the goal of doubling the number of U.S. students studying abroad by the end of the decade. Under the new partnership, Unitec will take concrete, action-oriented steps to expand opportunities for study abroad through breaking down perceptions of Study abroad and New Zealand to educate students about the on-going benefits. Unitec offer a university standard education in an applied learning environment so that students get hands on practice learning about their chosen subject.

I do not recommend studying the Bachelor of Health Science Medical Imaging, Unitec enrol to many students for placements, accept transfer students and prioritise their placements over current students, promise placements and never follow through. My daughter is now unable to complete the degree as she been waiting 2 years for a 2nd year placement . Absolutely gutted and no refund or help to transfer offed by this establishment. Multiple request to discuss this issue with staff has been denied, and emails are very short in response, not supportive in nature and informing my daughter not to contact them, they will contact her should they have a placement. Although they were quick to take her fees. Unfortunately now the degree will never be completed as it is outside the period required by MRT board
Excellent campus and library with lots of food options available. Lovely and caring lecturers. So glad I decided to study vet nursing here. Just one star less as Unitec should have their own website instead of using Moodle and the online library access with logging in all the time and lots of research articles not accessible no content available needs improvement!
Honestly have to say the worst experience at a uni that I have ever experienced, they have little care for your wellbeing and mental health if it's gonna lose them money. Was literally pushed to almost suicide and self harm by a couple students and they did nothing, just dragged it on and I was treated like I'm the one in the wrong, absolute bull honestly, horrible treatment form the lectures and don't ask them for help cause they won't help you and will just string you along so that you pay more. Would not recommend was the worst experience ever, the people who harassed me were rewarded whilst I was punished.
I have studied at Unitec Institute of Technology back in 2015-2016. I have completed my level 4 Certificate in Communication and Media Arts. I loved the staff. The international students office is very helpful and the experience as an international student was amazing. Specially when you are coming from different countries and background. The University is very considerate of your circumstances and is very tolerant of the cultural diversity. They make you feel at home. I felt I have found a home at the Mt. Albert campus. I still to this date misses the the warmth of my lovely lecturers specially Antoinette Wessels was the best teacher one can ask for. She was always willing to help us understand the topics with ease. I took two of my classes with her one was Writing well and the other one was Communicating now. If you are going to join Unitec Institute of Technology then remember you are in good hands the teachers are just exceptional. Especially the Business and Communication department.

I do believe that the unitec is the worst college in NZ because unitec sells his students who do not pay for bill on time to a collection agency. Unitec even does not inform these students before selling them to collection agency. So just reminding yourself to pay for your bill to unitec otherwise have to pay more.
I know they are going to delete my review but people please please do not join this college. My sister’s bloody corrupt agent pushed her in this college without her consent and then she tried to change it but college made it next to impossible to change. The teachers are all Asians who literally have zero knowledge of English language and whole staff is Asians too..students have no fix day or time of the classes. Whole faculty and teachers can just randomly just change any day or time for the classes. If one week it’s Monday Tuesday,Friday and next week it can be Tuesday,Thursday and Friday. It can be 10 am to 12 pm class. It can be 1 pm to 8:30 pm class as well. They don’t even try to understand how studentsespecially femaleswill travel in night time and coming from other cities. They intimidate them by saying they can tell on immigration about them. The students who are allowed to work 20 hours can’t find jobs due to stupid hours of Unitec. For Christmas break where students are allowed to work full time in 8 weeks periods in other schools or college, this Unitec only gave 1 week off in which students still had to do online classes. They push you to come to college even if state of emergency was declared in Auckland due to flooding and no transportation available. Even though students have fully paid college fees they are still billing them saying they are due for another fees. The college and whole team is corrupt,May be couple of them are right but at the moment it is torture for the students. Worst college ever, intimidating students, they are so scared of them that they don’t even want to complain. Please please don’t send anyone here.

Friendly staff at students center and a lovely huge campus here next to waterfall reserves. Beautiful chilling places all around campus rain or shine :. Happy birds, Happy multi culture students& teachers.
It is very disappointing that after spending tens of thousands of dollars studying with them, they are not prepared to venture out of their templated frameworks to help an ex-student obtain documents that would allow them to enrol in a post-graduate degree at another institute. Their responses have all felt scripted, and there is no avenue to speak to anyone that could help, just constant reference to their predetermined timeframes and responses. Even after taking it upon myself to outline potential other avenues to open up correspondence between the two institutes so that I did not miss out on this opportunity, their response was, "We are sorry for the missed opportunity regarding your studies at ..., and I can understand the frustration this may have caused. If you would like to follow up with your refund, please email the fees department mentioned above, and they will be able to advise."
