Avondale Intermediate

The reception staff and teachers feel very welcoming toward my Year 7 cousin, who doesn’t understand English. It's only her first week, and she's already making friends and is happy. Her teacher is also very supportive.nnThe school has a swimming pool as well as a playground. All students appear to be well-mannered and happy, adding to the positive atmosphere of the school! I feel blessed that my cousin can spend her first two years in New Zealand at this school.

Mr Kumar, the most unprofessional teacher i have ever came across by far. His way to disciplining students is by threatening them and bullying them to the extent of telling them “I’m gonna make you cry” “you should know me by now” in what way of education and disciplining students is this ok?nWhen i went up to him he did not want to speak about this and continued to yell at me saying “im gonna call the cops on you” this is absolutely unprofessional and not okay to speak with an adult, let alone a 12 year old child. He continued to argue with a literal child. This grown man is comparing himself to a 12 year old child. He’s made her cry twice coming back home. As a parent i want to understand what makes teachers think its ok to talk to children like this in the name of “disciplining” absolutely not the teacher is a horrible person in general and should be held accountable for his unprofessional and childish actions towards students. Not to mention he was taking pictures of the young girls in class a joke? In what way is that okay.

One of the best Intermediate School here in Auckland. All the teachers are very friendly, good & approachable.
