SEWING CLASSES for Kids, Teens and Adults teaching the basics of sewing in a simple, creative and fun way.
SEW MUCH FUN, in Blockhouse Bay, teaches sewing to Kids, Teens, and Adults. Classes are for kids 7 years and over, teens and adults. Students learn the basics of sewing in a simple, creative and fun way.
While enjoying learning to sew, children and youth develop important life and career skills such as problem-solving, patience and perseverance. Adults get a chance to get away from their usual routine and have fun developing a useful skill. Every student gets an immense sense of pride and accomplishment when he or she completes a project.
Students can follow the "Kids Can Sew”© curriculum which is a structured system consisting of a workbook with a set of 8-9 clothing patterns which they complete during the course of around 8 to 9 months. The cost of the workbook and patterns is $50. All students are to bring their own material, thread, and trimmings which should cost around $5 to $15 per item. Sewing machines and tools are provided.
Students can continue for as long as they want to. However, I can assure you that you will want to keep on sewing as you progress from one skill level to the next.
Kids 7 to 12 years and teens 13 to 17 years have four classes of one hour each every month. Teens pay $80, while kids pay only $60. Adults 18 and over pay $100 for four classes of an hour and a half each. The fees are due on or before the first class of each month.
Small classes of 2-4 students per class ensure individual attention.
Students who know how to sew can join the Pattern Drafting for beginners class. One-On-One Pattern drafting classes cost $65 per class of two hours which includes pattern paper and other items required.
