Good ambience, excellent place to bring family and friends... Esp those who crave for curries... We had an amazing time and experience with delicious foods from bunny chow, to lamb curry, to biryani and to the FIRST TIME EVER - CHIP CHOW! Now why didn't I think of that! Well done House of Curries! You treated all 8 of us like royalties... Thank you David!
This is the place to have a beer or two and a delicious curry. Think I am going to have to rate this place as the best curry place ever. Staff are friendly and welcoming. With the right balance of heat and spice.... Loved it
Look, this place is a Florida Road institution, and If you want good, authentic Durban Curry Cuisine, this is a really good spot, also, if you haven't been before, you should go. Their Rotis are amazing and huge and their bunnies are great. I have noticed though, when I've gone there, the stock controller needs to ne better as they are often out of ingredients for drinks and for certain dishes. Service could be a bit better as our table of 7 got their food at different times, and biting into a star anise while eating is never fun. Despite few shortcomings I highly suggest visiting this Durban Gem. Vegetarian options: Many options for vegetarians, Rotis, Bunnies and curries.
The food is excellent but the atmosphere is more pub like than a restaurant. Most people seemed to be there for drinks than meals, with lots if cigarette smoke. Not really suitable for a family outing.Food: 5/5
They serve a great variety of delicious HOT food. Great atmosphere. It seems like the popular choice to sit outside on the deck in the summer time. If there isn't any space, there is an indoor area. If you're fussy about service, then it may be a let down. Quite a lot of flies around as well. We were promised a candle which never came. Otherwise, fantastic place for the foodies
I haven't had a bunny chow this nice in a long while. We had lamb, beef, chicken and prawn and chicken curry and they were all amazing. The service was impeccable
Food was really bad, Service was average. Hoc should really up their standards in regards to they food, no color, no taste looks like old food warmed and served
Food took long to come, had to send the prawn bunnies back, was fishy and watery. Breyani was good. Roti roll was average. No atmosphere. Even kids were not impressed with the food.
Very nice food. Loved the curry.
The lamb curry and briyan was cold it tasted water as if the food was from the fridge and it was not warm, it was left overs not fresh food. There had no juice, we were forced to order something because the cranberry juice we had ordered they could not get. I was very disappointed with the service of food Tasted awful.
