Touquet

Service was great, ambiance was fantastic. However, the food was not very impressive, in my opinion. I had the duck confit and I really thought that it was bland. It was served with simple boiled carrots and the aubergine ? puree hardly tasted of anything. My partner enjoyed his meal a bit more - scotch fillet. The portion sizes were small as well and I was not filled. We had a cheese platter for dessert - which I see is no longer on the menu. I'd go back for a glass of wine and to try their desserts, but probably not for a meal.

Any meat apart from chicken usually frightens me, however i tried the braised beef cheek and can honestly say i have never eaten anything that melted in my mouth like that. The caramel tart is out of this world as well. The quaint atmosphere adds to the dining experience! I highly recommend.

I guess it would typical for me to not like this place but I'll tell you weft so you can name you're own judgement. Firstly, it was too pricey. However, we did go here during auckland restaurant month for $40pp Secondly, they offered us sparkling or normal water but failed to inform us that sparkling water would cost us $12 some places offer sparkling water for free. I guess we could have also asked but they KNEW it would cost us. A little 'Sure, of course, and just letting you know that there's a charge for sparkling' or something would have been much appreciated. Thirdly, portions were small and we were left wanting to eat a burger or something after we left. And lastly, food took awhile to come out. The entrée came out super fast, and then the others took much longer. I believe that at that particular time all the other tables had already finished eating and were just drinking. This was already about 9pm. Despite all this, the place was quite cute and service was ok. Could be very romantic! If you were richer and don't mind the price, toys could be for you ! The paté we had was really good, too.

Superb food, brilliant wine and amazing service. You can feel the chef's passion in every bite. My new go-to restaurant - loved it!

The ambiance the food the service! Everything is beyond perfect and consistently amazes! Would definitely recommend for special ocassions or even for catch up with friends. Its fine dining in the cosiest setting at a pretty reasonable price.

Food was disappointing. Not authentic French quality! The steak was overcooked and hard, the French fries weren't very good. Will NOT come back.
