Fantastic place to stay when embarking on the Tongariro Crossing. Rooms are well appointed, comfy beds, full kitchen and awesomely powerful shower. Breakfast is provided on the morning of the walk which offers all options on the continental front plus a boiled egg and toast. Packed lunch for the day was delicious. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend. Bonus was we had breakfast the second morning with what was leftover, plenty! Thanks for having us for a memorable weekend :
We loved our stay here! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms extremely comfortable and well equipped. We booked the Tongariro Crossing package and it made our hike so easy thanks to the provided food and transit from the lodge. The breakfast which we had every day was yummy, and there is a great food truck nearby where we got dinner. We also appreciated the laundry room which was very well set up and let us wash all our clothes after the hike. The location was convenient, quiet, and beautiful. We hope to come back sometime.
We had breakfast delivered the first day and ate in the cafe the second. The bread they made for that was absolutely perfect. Breakfast sizes were huge so definitely come hungry. We really appreciated that they had not only laundry, but also a drying room on site. It made it so convenient for us after our hikes.
We finished our hike at the Tongariro Alpine Crossing with very sore feet itching for some creature comforts. We were so pleased to have big comfy beds, lovely generous water pressure, and an atmospheric sitting room to enjoy for the night. The B&B hosts show true old fashioned hospitality, from perfectly manicured gardens to a home-cooked breakfast in an intimate and classical dining room. The only place to stay for luxury with a local feel!
Thank you for making our stay so comfortable!nThe room was spacious, super clean, and with access to own fridge and a shared kitchenette.nThe host arranged our transportation to the Crossing and provided wonderful food for the trek and for our breakfast. What stands out at this lodge is care. As guests, we felt like the hosts cared about our stay and comfort. 10/10.
