Had a lovely stay here, they are renovating and it was very quiet due to the time of the year. I booked a dorm room but had the room all to myself, which was a nice change. There was a heater in the room, so it wasnt too cold. Everything looked clean.
We visited in March, so off-season. The location is great and very close to the Tongariro Crossing which we were lucky enough to do!nThe room was clean and basic, the beds were fine. The communal kitchen and equipment were very dated oven wasn’t great but we managed to cook the meals we needed.nCommunal showers and toilets were clean and other guests were quiet and respectful. Large communal areas available to use and the staff were friendly when we arrived, but left us to ourselves for the whole time.nThe price was cheap so we were happy with what we got, but if you want something more modern or lots of attention from staff, I would suggest thinking elsewhere as it’s quite old!
Nothing to complain about .If you are looking for quiet and peaceful place far away from the hustle and bustle of the citylife , that’s the one !nThe kitchen is wonderful with everything needed to cook : huge bonus with decoration ! There is a vibe !nThe private room is also awesome : comfort , warm, quiet ! Great value for money !nNo one at the reception but everything was well explained with our room key delivery !nnA pleasant stay !nnThanks heaps !
I stayed on a Friday night and had the entire room to myself. The bathrooms and toilets were shared, and no towels were provided. The lighting was a bit dim, but the kitchen was decent.
Save yourself the stress and never consider booking this accommodation.nnThe moment i walked in, I knew I had made a mistake. To name a few things:n- Very dimly litn- Ripped carpetn- Hair on the sheets and pillows without even having touched my bed yetn- 1 operating shower & 3 toilets for the whole blockn- run-down kitchen with worn out cooking equipmentn- smallest room ive ever seen for 3 people…n- entire place looked abandoned, no light and no noise anywhere. Such an eerie vibe…nnI could keep going. When I went to consult the owner about our disappoint, he wasnt at reception and when I found him in the shed, he delayed us another 30 minutes very rudely, leaving us enough time to go grocery shopping and back and he was still in his shed doing nothing!nnHe was even petting his cat and talking with his dog in the car before coming to ask me if I had any questions, after waiting for over 30 minutes… The level of professionalism and hospitality was appauling to say the least!nnOverall, the owner was extremely rude, condescending and I quite frankly have no idea how they put themselves into the hospitality business with that sort of attitude and personality towards his customers.nnAs a final note, nothing I mentioned is exaggerated at all and it was actually a shocking experience. Please do not book this place and go somewhere elsewhere. It’s not worth your time.
