This restaurant is new for me as I remember it as the Blind Finch. I wasn't sure what to expect but went in to try it out. They are decently sized with a few tables inside and a few outside.nThe menu was interesting, inscribed on a record. At first glance the menu does look big but it is just iterations of similar items with different proteins. I tried the sweet and sour pork ribs. I ended up getting sweet and sour pork as there wasn't a rib aspect to it. It was nice though and the portions are very generous. The portion of rice was also quite large. IT is a place more suited for groups to share items so that you are able to try a lot of different things. I also did try the deep fried ice cream and that was a bit disappointing as it wasn't what I was expecting. It was more of a pancake sandwich with berry.nThe place wasn't what I expected but the savoury item was nicely made. The service was also quite good.
My family and I had an amazing dining experience at this Chinese restaurant! nnThe food here is absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes are incredibly generous. Every dish burst with fantastic flavors, making each bite a delightful adventure for the taste buds. My favourite was the snapper from the specials board which come out sizzling on a hot plate. Amazing! I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and quality of the cuisine. Great option is getting a number of dishes to share. Perfect after a day on the now or other Ohakune activities. My son also loved the deep fried ice cream with jam nnThe service was equally exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful meal. Their warm and welcoming attitude added to the overall positive experience. The weather was bad in Ohakune today so it was a rare quiet night here which meant the food come out in record time.nnIf you're looking for a Chinese dining experience with delectable food, substantial portions, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be returning for more!
We had hot plate venison, fried rice and seafood soup. The portion is huge and food very delicious. Waiting time is very short and the owner is very friendly. Very unique deco. The menu is printed on to vinyl disc. Very creative. The tap in the toilet is also very ‘vintage’. This place is a must visit if you are around the area.
Fabulous food and an especially great range of dumplings. Fun decor. Dishes were delivered promptly, but beyond that, we may as well have been invisible. Not conducive to ordering more. An unreserved recommendation for takeaways at least.
