We stopped by to ask if they have the sheep shearing show but was disappointed to learn that they have stopped it. The cafe serves decent food and the gift shop has a wide range of souvenirs. Would recommend the seafood chowder and beef pie. It's a good stop for families or anyone interested in rural NZ.
Stopped at The Wrinkly Rams for break - very nice cafe with a souvenir shop attached. Many choices of food & beverages. Since it was cold, we ordered seafood chowder and fries with coffee. It’s so nice to enjoy the meal with a view of the mountain range. Friendly staff and fast service.
It's a hidden gem! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warm and cozy atmosphere that immediately made me feel at ease. But what really stole the show was the food - oh, the food!nnTheir pie and pastries are absolutely divine! I've been to many popular bakeries throughout my camper van journey in NZ, but The Wrinkly Rams takes the cake or should I say, the pie?. The flavors are rich, the crust is flaky, and the presentation is impeccable. It's clear that the chefs take pride in their craft.nnBut what's even more impressive is the variety of local products available in their shop, there's something for everyone. The service was friendly. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the products.nnOverall, The Wrinkly Rams is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious meal or snack, or just a unique shopping experience. Plus, they open at 7am!
After the fiasco of another cafe in the next town up the road, it was such a relief to hit this one.nnSpacious, gorgeous food, relaxed service with a smile, a New Zealand country cafe as I imagined it. Kids loved their homemade steak and mince pies, and the veg quiche wasn’t too shabby either! A place not to miss on the road between Lake Tekapo and Queenstown.
The best cafe food I have had in my three weeks NZ trip! Fresh ingredients and lovely plating, service is also fantastic!
