The Thomas Green Public House & Dining Room

Just passing through Gore today and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. Really enjoyed my sticky chicken and half a cider.

What a pleasant surprise!!nBeautifully fitted out, historical building, with great atmosphere.nFood and staff were also good.nA great place to relax and enjoy a meal.

Outstanding service and really nice food. We had the Chowder and the Mushroom Benedict. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely return.

Our waitress was great. But for the 2nd time for our big group the food was underwhelming. 2 of us at the were served sinuey cheap cut steak that was $45. I could eat half of my steak that was over cooked but literally had to remove steak from my mouth that was uncheweable . We brought this to the attention of the wonderful waitress and she took it back half was inedible . When it come to paying I was told to pay full price because I ate some from the chef. Unfortunately I couldn't eat half of my meal but was forced to pay full price. Our last visit was cold chowders and average steak around our large table. Wont be back. Over priced and underwhelming . Harsh but true

Big open restaurant right in the centre of town. Lovely fire which was welcoming on a cold night. Nice ambience and decor.nHate to say it but the food was a bit hit and miss. My friend couldn't eat her salmon risotto as it was more like soup, I love tasty spicey food but my noodles were very strong flavored. The blue cod and steak meals were ok.nSadly I didn't have my phone with me to take photos.
