The very pleasant staff here provides great service. We enjoyed the creamed corn with chicken soup with garlic bread and the venison with pear, walnut, and bleu cheese salad. Busy place in the center of town. Has both inside and nice outside dining areas.
Was here for a quick food stop before going to Te Anau.nnWe unfortunately arrived late and our options for food were limited to bar food.nnService was great, warm and friendly with lots of smiles.nnWe opted for an orange juice and seafood basket.nSeafood basket was generous with lots of fries and assorted fried stuff with fish, prawn and calamari.nAll tasted pretty decent.nnWould return to try their main dishes if the future allows.
When all the locals meet up at a place for lunch, you know it's a good restaurant! To be honest, we chose it because if the name haha! Excellent service and good food! We had the sharing plate, open steak sandwich, blue cod, and the wee one had chicken nuggets.
A good place to eat. A bit expensive to my taste but in good portions.
Pretty good food for a small town pub in NZ. They have a variety of gluten free options and the lemon cake was very moist. They have a terrace out the back but unfortunately it just overlooks the road. The staff were friendly and helpful but did look a little rushed off there feet when we came to leave. I would go back if I was in the area but wouldn't make a special trip.
