I had dinner with my family together with my father's boss and the boss's family. It was a relaxing place, and I liked their baked salmon. I also tried one of their desserts, which was the warm chocolate brownie, and it was delicious.
What even is this operation. We were seated whilst there was 3 other tables in the restaurant. 3 floor staff. Initial drink order was good. Then they completely forgot about us to get out food order. We sat an watched as 2 of the 3 floor staff had conversations over the food pass with the kitchen staff and a couple of other young girls who I am guessing also work there but are not on shift. After waiting 15-20 mins for our food order to be taken after watching an empty restaurant with the staff having conversations. We could not even make eye contact with these girls. We paid for our drink and told the lady at the bar we were leaving because we were being ignored and still hadn't had food order taken, no apology. Never again. We are now happily eating a meal down the road at table talk cafe for half the price and great service. Sort it out
It’s been a while since I’ve written a review, but I had to share our experience at Howl at the Moon. We stopped by for dinner one evening and immediately loved the atmosphere. I had the ribeye steak with mushroom sauce and prawns, while my partner chose his steak with garlic butter. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous. The chips and salad were delicious, and my prawns were cooked just right. Despite it being a busy night, everything was spot on. A big shout-out to the chef for an excellent meal. We’re already looking forward to returning to try more of the menu. Thanks again, Howl at the Moon!
Was here for a quick food stop before going to Te Anau.nnWe unfortunately arrived late and our options for food were limited to bar food.nnService was great, warm and friendly with lots of smiles.nnWe opted for an orange juice and seafood basket.nSeafood basket was generous with lots of fries and assorted fried stuff with fish, prawn and calamari.nAll tasted pretty decent.nnWould return to try their main dishes if the future allows.
Ordered the seafood basket expecting a proper mix of seafood, but instead received a mountain of chips. Barely any seafood in sight – a complete rip-off. Feels like a scam for the price they’re charging. Wouldn’t recommend.
